Myeongdong jokbal with radish and garlic perilla wraps: Miss Jokbal
In short
Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a jokbal (braised pig's trotter) restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station Exit 2. Arriving at 6pm, the writer ordered the Emperor Jokbal for 58,000 won, which arrived with the house kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup), sides of japchae, gimbap and shrimp, and three dipping sauces. The skin was springy and the meat tender, and the best bite at Miss Jokbal was a perilla leaf wrapped around the jokbal with dried radish strips and raw garlic.

How to walk to Miss Jokbal from Euljiro 1-ga Station
Miss Jokbal is a 3-minute walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station Exit 2! The accessibility was really convenient haha.
Miss Jokbal at 6pm: how busy is it and is there a wait?

This is what the outside of the shop looks like. We visited at 6pm and it was already packed!

Here's the menu board. There's a good variety, and it looks super filling just from the photos haha.

You follow this entrance to get inside.

It was completely full of people, so it looked like you'd have to wait if you didn't reserve ㅠㅠ I really recommend booking ahead haha. After some deliberation, we ordered the ✔️ Emperor Jokbal (₩58,000)!
What comes with the 58,000-won Emperor Jokbal, and the order to eat it in

They had the recommended eating order posted, and following it made it genuinely delicious haha.
- 1. Opening act — wake up your appetite with kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup)
- 2. The true flavor — enjoy the jokbal plain, with no sauce
- 3. Building flavor — dip into ssamjang, salted shrimp, or mala sauce for variety
- 4. Balance — eat jokbal with salad to cut through the richness
- 5. Climax — wrap jokbal and vegetables in corn paper with mala sauce and hoisin

The kimchi kalguksu that comes as a default! The spicy smell hit my nose right away haha. It was the perfect spicy-tingly appetizer before digging into the jokbal❤️

And finally, the jokbal itself... isn't it seriously generous?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The trotter had a nice springy texture and glossy color, and the portion was so plentiful for two people that we actually left some.

The side dishes were just as generous, with japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), gimbap (seaweed rice roll), shrimp, mukbap jelly, stir-fried kimchi, tofu, lettuce, and more haha.

Springy skin, tender meat: how the jokbal tastes
Every piece of jokbal had collagen attached, giving it a savory richness! I'm usually not a fan of the dry, tough parts of jokbal, but there wasn't a single dry piece haha. The skin was springy and chewy, while the meat was soft and tender! Eating the skin and meat together gave a perfect combination of chewiness and juiciness, and the texture was really great haha. The seasoning wasn't too strong or sweet — just a subtle savory saltiness that kept me reaching for more. There was almost no gamy pork smell, and the more you chewed, the more the savory meat aroma came through, so it was delicious even plain💕

Three sauces and the perilla wrap with dried radish and raw garlic
Three different sauces came out, so you can dip according to your taste.

Wrapping it in perilla leaf was delicious too! My favorite combination was adding pickled radish and raw garlic haha.

There was also a wide variety of drinks and alcohol! The owner and staff were so kind that we left in a great mood❤️
Is Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch worth it? Final verdict
- Great accessibility, 3-minute walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station
- The jokbal is springy yet tender, clean with no gamy smell
- A generous overall spread, from kimchi kalguksu to various side dishes
- Three sauces so you can choose according to your taste
- Even more delicious with pickled radish and raw garlic added to the perilla wrap💕
Above all, the portion was really generous for two people, so I felt it was good value. The place was nearly full during dinner hours, and after eating there myself, I understood why it's so popular haha. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a hearty jokbal meal in Euljiro~!🐷❤️
