Sindang Exit 7 gopchang restaurant, first visit: Jinseong Hanwoo
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean beef gopchang (grilled beef intestines) restaurant on the main road right outside Exit 7 of Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. On a first visit to this branch, two servings of beef gopchang and a side of kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice came with a staff member setting a timer, grilling and cutting the gopchang at the table, in a wide, spotless dining room served with three house-made kimchis. Between the service and the food, it is easy to see why the wait outside Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is always long.

Today's post is about Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch, a beef gopchang (grilled beef intestines) restaurant in Sindang-dong. I've been to other Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang locations plenty of times on my own dime — and I keep craving it 🤤 Every time I passed by the Sindang location I saw a massive line and wondered what the fuss was about, and I finally got to visit 🥹 Here's my honest, detailed review of the Sindang branch ✨

Where is it? Right outside Sindang Station Exit 7
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch sits right in front of Sindang Station Exit 7! You see it the moment you come out of the station, right on the main road, so there's no need to search for it 🙂↕️

The restaurant is huge, too..! And true to a proper local favorite, there was a whiteboard for the waiting list and a whole row of chairs for waiting outside!! That's basically a stamp of approval 👍🏼

Inside Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang: wide-set tables and a spotless room
The dining room at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang is really spacious!! The gaps between tables were wide too, so it felt comfortable. And even though it's a beef gopchang restaurant, everything was kept clean — no greasy residue on the chairs or anything!! That was genuinely satisfying ✨

Menu and origin: gopchang, daechang and makchang, all domestic Korean beef
Here's the menu board and the origin display. Being a gopchang specialist, the mains were gopchang, daechang, and makchang, with kkakdugi fried rice and anchovy noodles as sides. And true to the name 'hanwoo gopchang,' the origin listed for the gopchang, daechang, and makchang was all domestic Korean beef!

And Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang's real showstopper is the kimchi — they say they make all of it in-house..! Beef gopchang plus kimchi, no words needed 🤤🤤

Side dishes: mijeolma sauce and three house-made kimchis
The basic table setting comes with mijeolma sauce, three kinds of kimchi, and chives! The mijeolma sauce is truly Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang's signature — apparently made from their own pickled garlic. It's on a completely different level from store-bought sauce 👍🏼

And here are the three house-made kimchis. You get altari kimchi (young radish kimchi), gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), and pa kimchi (scallion kimchi). Pairing these with beef gopchang is a truly bottomless combination 🔥🔥
Beef gopchang for two, grilled by staff on a timer

We ordered two servings of beef gopchang! It came out pre-seared along with kimchi, rice cake, potato, bean sprouts, and cabbage. The beef gopchang sizzling away,,🔥🔥 The staff set a timer, grilled it all for us, and cut it up too!

Can you see how golden-brown the gopchang is, packed full of gop (fat)..!👀 The nuttiness was out of this world

One bite of the gop-packed gopchang with gat kimchi, another bite with the special sauce•• it just kept going in ✨ The house-made kimchi is really the kicker,,, raw or grilled, everything about it was delicious!! And of course you can't skip a drink here 🍻 It's the perfect match with somaek (soju-beer mix) 💗
Kkakdugi fried rice you can eat alongside the gopchang

And you can't skip the fried rice••♥️ At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, instead of frying rice only after you finish the gopchang, you can order it as a side dish and enjoy it while eating..!! I loved that I could eat it alongside the gopchang right away. It's even better because the fried rice is made with house-made kkakdugi, mixed well with kkakdugi, egg, and minced garlic.

Piling the fried rice with beef gopchang on top — how could that not be delicious.. The spicy, garlicky kick of the fried rice with the nutty gopchang is truly the best combination 🙂↕️♥️
Why is the wait at this Sindang gopchang restaurant so long?
After seeing the massive wait at the Sindang branch every time, I finally visited Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang for the first time! Between the comfortable space, the friendly service, and the taste, I could completely understand the wait 💗 If you're looking for a true beef gopchang spot in Sindang, I fully recommend Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang ✨
