Myeongdong jokbal with self-serve takeout boxes: Miss Jokbal

Where is Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch? A minute from Euljiro 1-ga Station Exit 6

Went out on the weekend with mom and dad to shop for my niece's baby clothes at Lotte Department Store~~ Dad suggested jokbal (braised pork trotter) for lunch, so we stopped by Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch!

It's close to Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station Exit 6 and also close to the Myeongdong street food alley~ The emperor's jokbal we had at this well-known Myeongdong jokbal spot — the portion was huge, but the whole table's visual was even more.. dad started snapping photos right away haha.

Even outside the restaurant, it was so crowded I thought, okay, this really is Myeongdong.. and I guess that's why so many people were eating jokbal even in the middle of the day haha

What we ordered: emperor's jokbal for 58,000 won

Every table except ours was pretty much full haha I ordered the emperor's jokbal for 58,000 won plus one draft beer added on (that one was dad's haha), and had a really satisfying lunch~

First, the table was set with kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup) and salted shrimp, ssamjang, and mala sauce.

We ordered jokbal but got noodle soup too.. felt hearty right from the start haha

Then dad's draft beer arrived haha I nagged him about drinking beer in the middle of the day.. but he insisted jokbal absolutely needs a beer with it, hah ;;

Three sauces at Miss Jokbal: salted shrimp, ssamjang and mala

They gave us three types of sauce — the usual salted shrimp and ssamjang, plus a legendary bonus!! Mala sauce, if you can believe it??

Mom, dad and I each eat differently, but I love that they've added mala sauce for young international tourists — nice touch!!

What comes with the emperor's jokbal spread

Even dad, who never usually takes food photos, went "wow" and pulled out his camera haha that reaction is pretty rare.. the visual was already stunning before we even ate〰️ so my expectations for the taste were maxed out

Looked almost like a royal 12-dish table..? What kind of jokbal is this ;ㅋ;ㅋㅋㅋ

Shrimp salad, tofu kimchi, gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) all came arranged around the jokbal — wow, it really felt like such a generous spread haha

There was also pickled radish strips, napa cabbage kimchi, and pickles, so it was a nice lineup to mix in whenever eating just jokbal felt like not enough! With young napa cabbage, perilla leaves, and lettuce all set out too, the table felt truly spectacular haha

How does the jokbal taste? Boiled 6+ times a day, no gamey smell

The kimchi kalguksu is just a basic side dish, but it's great for switching your palate to something spicy between bites of jokbal, which helps you keep eating it properly haha chewy jokbal, then a bite of noodle soup! That combo tasted even better together - 🩷

The jokbal itself had no gamey smell and a chewy texture — especially good ★ The restaurant says they boil it more than six times a day, and honestly, even for someone as sensitive to smells as me, I couldn't detect any gamey smell at all..

Wrapped in lettuce, piled onto perilla leaves, wrapped in young napa cabbage — ate it all up properly!! Mom loves wrapping her food in leaves - ✨ This also seems like a great menu to come back to for drinks with friends in the evening 👍

With so many wrap greens and side dishes, it's fun mixing up combinations even with the same jokbal haha

The portion was so big I worried about leftovers, but they had self-serve packing containers ready haha (I didn't have leftovers myself, but I saw other people packing up)

My dad, true to his big-eater reputation, finished it all, so we cleared the table completely ~~

Is Miss Jokbal worth it for a family lunch in Myeongdong?

If you're looking for a Korean restaurant in Myeongdong for a family meal, jokbal with this many sides is a pretty solid option!! We came out to shop for my niece's clothes and ended up with a delicious lunch with mom and dad too! I'll remember it as a great Myeongdong jokbal spot, but I think dad's face taking photos of the table is what I'll remember even longer haha
