Dining room and self-serve bar: fine for solo diners and groups
The interior is clean with fast table turnover, which makes it great for a solo lunch on a workday or for dinner with a drink on the side. On weekends there are a lot of people eating brunch-lunch, or having beer with their meal after working out, haha.

Basic side dishes are set on the table, but extra onions and pickled radish are self-serve. Small plates, ladles, scissors, and kids' cutlery are also at the self-serve bar.
Cockle jjamppong rice, 11,000 won: the smoky broth and the cockles
The kkomak jjamppong rice at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is ₩11,000. It's a jjamppong rice where chewy cockles and a spicy, deep smoky broth soak into every grain of rice!

The kkomak jjamppong rice has a deep flavor that really clears you up. The moment the bowl hit the table, the smoky, spicy aroma hit my nose right away!
How fresh and generous are the cockles and other ingredients?
Run your spoon through the jjamppong rice and you'll find plump cockles, squid, meat, and a generous mix of vegetables. The cockles were cleaned very well, so you get that proper chewy texture without any gritty feel.
The smoky, deep broth that begs for a bowl of rice stirred in
The thick, spicy jjamppong broth strikes a perfect balance between the refreshing seafood flavor, the savory meat stock, and that sharp smoky note. If you prefer rice over noodles, or want a filling lunch, or need something for a hangover, there's really nothing better.
Tip: Take a few spoonfuls of the broth on its own first to enjoy the deep flavor, then mix in the rice half a bowl at a time! That way the rice grains stay firm to the end and you keep that clean, spicy broth flavor.
Jajangmyeon, 8,000 won: how are the noodles and the black bean sauce?
The jajangmyeon at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is ₩8,000, with an extra-large portion for ₩1,000 more. It's a jajangmyeon with a rich, savory chunjang (black bean paste) aroma that hits you right away.

The noodles are wonderfully chewy and never turn soggy. The sauce clings well to the noodles and keeps its texture right to the last bite. The sauce isn't too sweet, and the natural savoriness of the chunjang comes through nicely alongside the big chunks of onion and meat. Meeting jajangmyeon with such solid basics just puts me in a good mood.
Tip: Shake on some of the chili flakes on the table for a bit of extra kick — it keeps things interesting all the way through! And if your dining companion ordered jjamppong? Try mixing in a little of the jjamppong broth — it tastes almost like sichuan jajangmyeon!
Final verdict on Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong in Dongtan
