Went shopping at Siheung Premium Outlets and figured I'd eat first before really getting into it :) Debated where to go this time too, and ended up at Pyeongi Dambaek again lol. It's a restaurant inside the outlet, and honestly I've lost count of how many times I've been here 🤣

It's not a one-or-two-visit place — I stop by pretty much every time I come to the outlets, so when I scroll through my photo album, old photos from here just keep popping up lol. Sometimes I've eaten here mid-shopping-trip, but this time it was food first, before anything else!

What we ordered at Pyeongi Dambaek

There were a lot more new menu items than last time I came! Clam kalguksu, stir-fried octopus,,, both available as single items or in sets!!

The spicy stir-fried octopus paired with clam kalguksu sounds like a really good combo too
- Bone kalguksu with tender pork jowl suyuk set: ₩19,000
- Clam kalguksu: ₩15,000
- Extra rice: ₩1,500
Original plan was two suyuk sets. But since it was evening, the suyuk was almost gone — they said only enough for one single-person set was left,,, I'd gone in dreaming of two whole plates of suyuk, so that was a bummer 😥 There's also bone soup rice on the menu, and that comes with rice, but then I'd be missing out on the kalguksu noodles,, basically I wanted both lol. So instead of bone soup rice, I ordered bone kalguksu and added an extra bowl of rice 🍚 Noodles and rice, that's exactly what I wanted 🤣

Bone kalguksu: how much meat is left on the bones
Pyeongi Dambaek's bone kalguksu comes topped with yellow egg garnish and scattered scallions, with a big chunky bone underneath. Seriously big bone, lots of meat.

It's not just a big bone with nothing on it — there's actual meat to pick off, and that's half the fun lol. The special sauce is packed with flavor too!! Dipping the meat you pull off the bone into it is such a good match

By the time you've broken down every bone and worked through the noodles, it's a pretty hefty bowl.
Pork jowl suyuk can sell out by evening
And the tender pork jowl suyuk that came with the set.

The suyuk comes thinly sliced, served with garlic, peppers, and a seasoning sauce on the side. First tried it with the sauce, then with fresh kimchi salad on top,,,

For me, suyuk topped with kimchi wins every time. Wish we'd both ordered the suyuk set so we could've each had our own plate 😅 If you're going later in the day and want the suyuk set, worth checking if it's still available!
Clam kalguksu, 15,000 won: the shell pile tells the story
The clam kalguksu we also ordered. This one came loaded with clams the second it arrived 😆

Clams piled on top of the noodles too. Snapped a photo first lol, then my partner started shelling clams one by one. At first I thought that was all of them on top, but as we ate, more kept turning up between the noodles and even more underneath 🤣

Hands were busy shelling clams lol. Even just the meat set aside adds up to a good amount!! And you really feel how much there was once you're done — we piled up all the empty shells in one bowl and it was seriously stacked haha.

My partner kept shelling and I kept snacking on the side lol. Once we gathered up just the clam meat, it looked like quite a lot even shelled, right? Popping a few pieces into your mouth at once tastes even better!! So chewy and satisfying 😝
According to the signage in the restaurant, they use mulchong clams sourced from the clean tidal flats of Gomso Bay.

Finishing the clam broth with a bowl of rice
Picking bones apart and shelling clams both — we somehow picked the two most hands-on dishes on the menu,, but we walked out of there very full and ready to shop. And it wasn't over yet. That extra bowl of rice I'd carefully added was still waiting lol.
After working through most of the noodles, we dropped the leftover rice into the remaining broth 🍚 Soaked the rice thoroughly in the broth and ate it right down to the last bite lol. Adding that extra rice was such a good call 🤣 After eating like that, I was genuinely stuffed. Bone meat, kalguksu, suyuk, clams — ate it all, meal complete!!
Honest verdict after many visits to Pyeongi Dambaek
Had a proper meal before shopping even started 🤩 Pyeongi Dambaek, the Siheung Premium Outlets go-to I've visited so many times I've lost count. No point even saying I'd come back — I already have, over and over 🤣 Ate well again this time, and now, off to actually go shopping 💨
