Why does hair grow out so fast? It felt like I'd just gotten a tone-down dye, but already my whole head looked faded, so I booked Anew Hair — known for great Gangnam hair consultations — and hurried over.

Where Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is and when it opens

Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is on the 2nd floor at 5 Seolleung-ro 127-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Closed Mondays, open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00 to 20:30. It's a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gangnam-gu Office Station on the Suin-Bundang Line. Parking is limited, so it's best to call ahead and check, or just use a nearby lot.

Choosing the color in a one-on-one hair consultation

At Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch, I decided on my color through a 1:1 hair consultation. She explained everything in incredible detail, and let me choose only after I fully understood — which made me really satisfied with the result afterward.

Want to see the BEFORE photo of my faded color? Patchy color in spots plus messy hair from not cutting it in a while... I wanted it all cleaned up evenly, not too light but not too dark either. Since that's not an easy balance, I made sure to book Anew Hair, the hair salon near Gangnam-gu Office, on purpose.

While I was getting dyed, it felt like being at a café — they even made me coffee — and with such a private feel, I felt like I was healing the whole time I was there.

Why a full dye was recommended over a root touch-up

I went back and forth a lot on whether to just get a root touch-up or a full dye. Since the color had gotten patchy all over, she recommended a full dye for a cleaner overall style. My style didn't change dramatically, but it looks so much neater overall, which makes me happy! I also got a light cut — it really reminded me that I need to maintain my hair consistently, not just once in a while.

She blow-dried carefully while explaining the color, and as it dried and the color gradually showed, I liked it even more. I've always believed you need to go somewhere that's genuinely good at dyeing hair, and this place turned out to be famous not just for Gangnam hair consultations but as a go-to spot for dyeing near Gangnam-gu Office too. My hair felt much silkier and there was no scalp itching at all through the whole process — I was very satisfied.

I used to think a root touch-up and a full dye were basically done the same way... but from choosing the color to the finishing touches, it clearly wasn't the same everywhere ^^;; Of course most care is generally similar, but especially for dyeing, I really recommend going somewhere that's actually good at it~~
