Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is right near Dongtan Station, so it's easy to get to. From the luxurious décor recreating a Greek temple, to the spacious 95-pyeong salon, to the full-body massage shampoo bowls and kids' room for customers — there were so many strengths.

Head stylist Ria in particular found a style that suited me perfectly and executed it flawlessly, so I finally got the life perm that felt made for me. And she was so kind that my heart just melted..💗

A temple-inspired interior

Juno Hair takes its name from JUNO, the Roman name for Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and beauty — the brand built its identity around her. The Dongtan SRT branch in particular styled its interior after the temple where the goddess Hera lives, so from the moment you walk in you get a sense of grandeur.

They even installed a large sink out front so customers could wash their hands comfortably during Covid — small touches like that made it clear how much care goes into looking after customers throughout the space.

A 95-pyeong salon floor

Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch, a Dongtan Station hair salon, is a large space of about 95 pyeong. The cut and perm treatment areas are separated, and the shampoo room and spa space are each separate too. Rather than feeling crowded with several people in one space, it had a spacious layout.

In the center of the salon, a snack bar offering treats to customers and an open medicine room stood out. The open medicine room especially was something I hadn't seen elsewhere — mixing treatment chemicals in an open space gave the impression of a trustworthy place.

Full-body massage shampoo chairs and a kids' room

There were several private single and double shampoo rooms. Deep in the back was a secluded, private space with a shampoo bowl that even offers full-body massage function. Experiencing it firsthand was pure healing...💗

Considering the character of the Dongtan area, they set up a separate kids' room, and I was really touched that it has a full glass wall so customers with children can use it comfortably.

Why a CS-curl build perm for fine, thin hair?

Before the perm my hair was just past collarbone length, and since it's fine with sparse density, there was almost no volume. After washing it, I could really see how flat and lifeless it looked haha.

Head stylist Ria first consulted with me about my hair condition and desired style before starting. Since I'd failed at perms many times before, I was planning to go with a subtle C-curl perm, but Ria carefully looked over my concerns and hair condition. Because my hair is fine and sparse, she recommended maximizing volume instead, so instead of my original plan we went with a mid-length build perm featuring CS-curls.

The design cut and face-line cut

She added a root perm on the sides and back of the head to boost volume, and cut a face-line cut around the side bangs. That gave me natural, pretty wispy pieces and baby hairs, and the once-empty space at my forehead filled in, completely changing my look. It was especially satisfying with my hair tied up, and a slimmer-looking face came as a bonus.

After the cut was finished, there was a 'water punch' machine that massages the scalp using water pressure — it apparently removes buildup and cleans out pores. It was my first time trying it, and it felt totally different from hand massage, super refreshing.

How the CS-curl build perm was done

Since the interior at Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Branch is so spacious, the cut and perm areas are separated. After washing my hair, I moved to the perm treatment space, where they set out snacks and drinks for me.

Once the perm treatment properly began, head stylist Ria handled everything meticulously. At other salons in the past, the designer I'd booked would keep stepping away and someone who looked like an intern would come do the treatment, which made me anxious.

But this time, Ria handled the entire treatment from start to finish. She checked in on me at every moment to see if anything felt uncomfortable, and worked quickly and precisely with an expert's touch, so I could relax and trust her completely ♥️

Normally my hair doesn't take a perm and treatments used to take forever, but with Ria the pretty curls appeared right away — it was amazing!! I finally met the golden hands, I'm so touched...😭

The final shampoo happened in the room with the full-body massage machine, and getting a hair pack with a full-body massage in that private space felt like paradise. You could hear birds chirping, so much so that I got confused about whether I was in a salon or some kind of utopia 🤣ㅋㅋ

After finishing the shampoo, head stylist Ria💗 carefully walked me through my regular hair-styling routine too.

Checking out the finished hair, I loved that it had the kind of full volume I'd never been able to achieve before. My perms always used to fail, but Ria finished a CS-curl build perm perfectly suited to me once again, so beautifully — I was truly grateful :)
