I've been wanting to change up my hair color lately, and after going back and forth on what to try, I went with a calm matte brown — not too bright, not too dark!

You don't enter through the Lotte Department Store parking lot; instead, go past the department store and enter through the parking lot of the Lotte Castle commercial building.

There's a faucet installed outside the store, so you can quickly wash your hands before entering or on your way out — such a thoughtful touch. It makes the whole experience feel clean and convenient.

The waiting area is spacious 〰️ Since I'd booked in advance, I was shown to my seat right away with no wait! I got seated and started prep the moment I arrived, so there was no downtime at all.

Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is comfortable for everyone regardless of age, and it even has a dedicated kids' room. Visiting a salon with a child usually means you're constantly distracted keeping an eye on them, so having a separate play space like this seems really convenient for families.

White zone and brown zone: which seat to ask for

The salon is divided into a White Zone and a Brown Zone — the White Zone has floor-to-ceiling windows, giving it an open, bright feel!

True to its name, the Brown Zone is decorated in warm brown tones, giving off a slightly calmer, cozier vibe!

The Verspa shampoo chair, said to be Dongtan's first

And here's one of the things the salon is proud of — the Verspa shampoo chair! 🫧 They said it's the first shampoo chair in Dongtan with a full-body massage function. I thought it was just a place to wash your hair, so it was surprising that you can get a full-body massage while shampooing, haha.

Matte brown consultation: taking the red out and toning down

I sat down and had a thorough color consultation with Director Ha Ho-seong first! I told him I wanted a calm tone-down for autumn while getting rid of the red tones completely, and he recommended a natural matte brown that would neutralize the red.

Hair that had been damaged and left uneven from frequent self-dyeing and flat-ironing was transformed into a clean, calm matte brown. Just changing the color made the whole look feel so much more put-together, right?! 🤎

The dyeing process and water-punch scalp cleanse, step by step

First, he did a light water rinse, then Director Ha Ho-seong mixed the dye to match the color. Watching him carefully apply it, section by section, even over the stained parts, really showed the difference an expert's touch makes, haha.

After applying the dye and letting it sit long enough, he shampooed and gave me a scalp massage at the same time! Getting that refreshing massage already felt so relaxing.

After that, he did a scalp cleanse and massage together using the water-punch function! It thoroughly cleaned every corner of my scalp while giving a massage at the same time, so all the residue from the dye was washed away completely — so refreshing.

How the finished matte brown really looks in daylight

After that, he dried my hair thoroughly! He blow-dried it neatly and finished with a pretty final styling.

Ta-da 🤎 here's the finished look after dyeing! In photos it almost looks black, but in person it's a calm matte brown with a subtle brown tint.
