Incheon Korean BBQ room with baby chairs and cabbage wraps: Heukdwaeji
In short
Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch is a briquette-grilled black pork Korean BBQ restaurant in the Ruwon City restaurant strip in Seohae, Incheon. Visiting with a child outside the weekend lunch rush, the writer ordered the Jirisan black pork set for three at 62,000 won (400g pork neck plus 200g pork belly) and black pork gochujang jjigae (red chili paste stew), and the owner grilled and delivered thick pork neck to the table alongside steamed cabbage wraps, muksabal (acorn jelly noodle soup) and jumbo-egg steamed egg as standard sides. With baby chairs, a private room and 3 hours of free parking, Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul is an easy choice for a family meal with kids.

Korean BBQ is always the first thing I think of when I'm trying to figure out what to eat with the kids! Today I went to a place that's getting a reputation as a must-visit restaurant in Gajeong-dong, Incheon — a Ruwon City Korean BBQ spot — and had some delicious meat!!
They've got a separate room set up too, so it's a great Ruwon City, Incheon restaurant to visit any time — company dinners, gatherings, family meetings, dates, lunch, dinner, whatever. The thick cuts of meat are grilled over charcoal, and the staff grill it themselves and bring it to your table, so visiting with kids means no worrying about grilling the meat yourself, which made it easy and comfortable!!
Where is Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch, and when is it open?

Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch is located in the Ruwon City restaurant strip~ and it's also close to Gajeong Station on Incheon Subway Line 2, so it's easy to find!!

You can get 3 hours of free parking in the building, so you don't have to worry about parking at all!! We went during the weekend but avoided the lunch rush, so there was no wait, but on weekday/weekend peak hours there might be a wait, so I'd recommend booking in advance through Naver reservations :)

The meat fridge displayed at the entrance caught my eye — the thick cuts looked so fresh just to look at~

Baby chairs and a private room: why Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul works with kids
Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch has wide spacing between tables and a baby chair available, so it was good to visit with a child. As soon as you walk in, the interior is clean and there's a private room set up on one side, so it seemed like a great spot for family gatherings or company dinners too!!
Usually when you visit a Korean BBQ place the smell of meat is everywhere, but here there was no smell at all and I could feel how well-managed and pleasant it was~

Since we booked through Naver reservations in advance, they had the table all set up and the charcoal already heated for us when we arrived~ Mushrooms and meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) placed right on the charcoal! You can order right at the table with tableside ordering.
What we ordered at Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul and what it cost
- Jirisan black pork set for three ₩62,000 (400g pork neck + 200g pork belly)
- Black pork gochujang jjigae (spicy pepper paste stew) ₩9,000
- 3 bowls of rice ₩3,000

Free side dishes, including steamed cabbage wraps
The basic side dishes are made up of banchan (side dishes) that go well with meat, and unusually, cabbage wraps come along with it~ The cabbage wraps come freshly steamed, and they're even better dipped in the house-made ssamjang (dipping sauce)!

Steamed egg with 3 jumbo eggs and acorn jelly muksabal
When you order meat here, mukguksa and steamed egg come as standard sides. The steamed egg is made with 3 jumbo eggs, so it has a fluffy texture rather than a smooth one — I actually like this fluffier style more than the jiggly, overly smooth kind!!!

The mukguksa is made with house-made naengmyeon (cold noodle) broth and acorn jelly, and when cheaper jelly is used it often has that distinctive acorn smell, but here there was no such smell at all — very clean to eat!! Plus they add a bit of chili to the broth for a spicy kick, so it might be a little spicy for kids, but for adults it's perfect as a palate cleanser between bites of meat!!
Thick pork neck grilled by the owner: easy to share with a child?
At Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch, the owner personally grills the meat and brings it to your table~ When you visit with kids, grilling the meat yourself can get pretty hectic, so this really made things easy.
The pork neck is as thick as a steak, grilled once and then just needs reheating at the table before eating, which was so convenient!
This thick pork neck can get really tough if not grilled well, so kids often don't eat it, but here it was grilled steak-style — crispy outside, juicy inside — so we could really taste the juicy meat, and it was so delicious~

Sea salt, meljeot (anchovy sauce) and a taste of kkodeulsal (pork collar)
They also use Sinan sea salt~ You dip the well-grilled meat in salt first to taste the flavor of the meat itself, then eat it however you like afterward. The meljeot, boiled hot, is made with hairtail fish sauce so there was no fishy taste at all, which was great — it was delicious wrapped with myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves), delicious wrapped as a ssam, and delicious with the cabbage wrap that came with the meal — that's Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch for you.
The kkodeulsal (chewy pork cartilage cut) they gave us as a taste was so good that if I hadn't been full I would've ordered more~~ Chewy and delicious! Next time I visit, I'll definitely order the kkodeulsal too!

How was the black pork gochujang jjigae?
On top of all this, adding the spicy gochujang jjigae, the best menu item at Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch, made for a meal that worked perfectly as both a drinking side dish and a full meal. The jjigae is packed with real black pork and the broth is so rich it practically demands another bowl of rice!!
Considering the prices, the service, and the condition of the room, I thought this place would suit all kinds of occasions — not just company dinners but dates, family gatherings, and lunch or dinner meetups with friends. Among Korean BBQ restaurants in Seo-gu, Incheon, this is a place that nails both room facilities and meat quality, so I'd give Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch a 100% return visit.

If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant good to visit with kids in Ruwon City, Incheon, or a private room restaurant for a group dinner or family gathering, I strongly recommend Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch. Thick cuts of meat grilled for you, house-made sauces and side dishes, and a private room too — a Gajeong-dong, Incheon must-visit restaurant with all three qualities well in place.
