Hi everyone, today I got to properly enjoy Jirisan black pork at a restaurant in Gajeong-dong, Incheon — Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul (흑돼지형제들) 🐷🔥 If you're serious about meat, this place is impossible to pass up. This is Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul Gajeong Ruwon City Main Branch.
Inside Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul: is it a good room restaurant for a Ruwon City company dinner?
The place is so big I couldn't even fit the whole exterior in one shot. My expectations were already sky-high before I even walked in 😲
Once inside, the interior was bigger than expected. There's a main hall, but also a semi-private room-style space further in, so it works well for family meals or a bigger group. If you're looking for a company dinner room restaurant in Ruwon City, Incheon, this one's worth checking ✔ It's a meat restaurant, but the whole space is kept impressively clean — passed the first-impression test right away!

A menu that sticks to the basics, backed up by solid stews and side dishes.
The banchan spread and the charcoal fire
The basic side dishes are set out neatly — a dipping sauce based on house-made doenjang aged over 4 years, salt from Sinan sun-dried sea salt with the bitterness drawn out over 5+ years, and sides that go well with the meat. It's fun mixing and matching. Black pork tastes great on its own, but changing up the pairing changes the whole experience. Everything feels arranged to complement the meat cleanly — because the star here is really the clean Jirisan black pork 🐷🔥

Another point in its favor: it's not a regular gas burner but a charcoal fire 🔥 The charcoal glows hot underneath the grill plate — and meat really does need that smoky char.
Yukbaegi, 62,000 won: the black pork neck and belly set

Yukbaegi: ₩62,000 Aged black pork neck + belly set

I came expecting thick cuts of clean Jirisan black pork grilled over charcoal, and I got exactly that. Can you see it? The meat already looks perfect just sitting there. The moment I saw it, I congratulated myself for finding this place. The thickness of the cuts also promised a great chew.
Ordering the yukbaegi also came with fluffy steamed egg and cool muksabal (acorn jelly in cold broth), making the table feel generous. The warm, soft steamed egg is perfect for a bite between pieces of meat, and the cold broth with chewy jelly clears the palate every time you dip in ✨ Charcoal-grilled black pork → cool muksabal → then meat again haha — with this combo you could eat forever.
Grilled and served at your table, so nobody has to be the grill master
One thing I really liked: can you see it — the owner (blurred out) looking reliable next to several grill plates of meat.
Instead of grilling at the table, the owner grills it himself and brings it out ready to eat. See the thickness of the meat...? Anyone with three kids running around, or that department manager at our office who clearly loves his meat, needs to come here. If we tried grilling this thickness ourselves, we'd burn the outside and undercook the inside for sure (burnt-outside-raw-inside?) 😂 It comes out cooked to perfection, so all we have to do is eat. Done.

Grilled over charcoal, the outside picks up a delicious smoky char while the inside stays juicy. It's cut into bite-size pieces, so at a company dinner nobody has to awkwardly figure out who's grilling — a low-key big plus. When you're busy grilling, conversation keeps getting interrupted, right? Here you can focus on eating from start to finish, which makes it a solid pick for a Ruwon City, Incheon company dinner too. Leave the thick cuts to the pros and just enjoy eating...❤️

The owner's pick for the first bite!! Since the meat is thick and juicy, dip it lightly in just salt for the first bite to enjoy the pork's natural flavor, then mix it up with the side dishes after. A bite of banchan in between resets your palate. Is this really pork? It has that otherworldly texture of beef... falling in love 😲😍 Best pork neck I've had in my life. Can it really be this tender? Soft and full of juice.

The meat itself was so good that it was delicious even plain, no dip at all 🤤 Enjoy the juicy, savory black pork on its own first, then start mixing according to your taste!

Meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) made from large anchovies from Yeonggwang, Jeolla-do. Dipping the meat in this house-made meljeot brings a salty, umami hit that pairs perfectly with the black pork 😋

Put a piece of meat on myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaf) with a dab of wasabi — my personal number-one combo, heaven-tier haha. I also like shiitake wasabi, and that was a treat too — the umami of the mushroom plus the sharp wasabi went so well with the meat. Switching combos bite after bite, the thick black pork disappeared in no time 🔥

Thought it was over? That's when the pork belly showed up. Pork belly has its own charm — the lean meat and fat layer balance out so well that one bite is chewy and bursting with savory flavor. It comes out perfectly grilled too, so you can just dig in.

I tried a plain bite again, then my chopsticks got busy again finding my own favorite combo.

Enter the moist, perfectly cooked mushrooms 🍄 They're grilled wrapped in foil rather than laid straight on the grill plate, so the moisture doesn't evaporate and they stay juicy all the way through.

Chewy yet soft — I had to wonder if this was the mushroom I thought I knew, and any mushroom lover would be moved. Not just the meat but even a small side like this gets careful attention at this Ruwon City meat restaurant, Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul.
Raw black pork skin, 150g for 9,000 won, dipped in soybean powder
Raw pork skin 150g ₩9,000

An extra order of raw pork skin is a must. The key word here is raw skin — grilled golden brown, crisp on the outside and chewy-bouncy on the inside, in that clean, light style that keeps you reaching for more even after you're already full of meat.

It's delicious on its own, but dip it in soybean powder and — wow, pork skin, I can't resist it ❤️ The distinctive nutty flavor that comes out with every chew is great, and that chewy texture puts you in a really good mood.
Suhyangmi steamed rice, 1,000 won
Suhyangmi steamed rice, ₩1,000. The owner is serious about rice too — it smells great and tastes genuinely delicious. If you love rice, you have to try it.
Cold noodles for dessert, 5,000 won

Dessert mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth), ₩5,000. Made with broth simmered for a long time from Korean beef bones and cartilage — it's not just refreshing, it carries a deep, rich savoriness too.
With shaved ice floating in the cool broth, slurp up a chopstick-full of noodles 🧊 One cold bite and your palate feels completely reset — was that Elastine? On top of that, the noodles had a shine to them too.
