What does the storefront and parking look like?

The exterior of this well-known meat restaurant near Gajeong Station had a pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibe. It looked like a comfortable place to sit down for a meal, and equally suited to enjoying a drink or two.

A large menu board was posted outside the restaurant so you could check what's on offer before going in. It showed the signature dishes and prices at a glance, which was helpful for deciding what to order or checking the budget — and easy for first-time visitors to browse without pressure.

If you're driving, you can use the building's underground parking lot. There was plenty of space, so parking wasn't a hassle even in the busy Luone City commercial area.
Charcoal grills and ventilation at every table
The inside of Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch kept the same retro, pojangmacha feel as the exterior. Each round table had a charcoal briquette burner at its center, and every table was fitted with proper ventilation, so you could enjoy the distinctive smoky flavor of charcoal grilling while still eating in reasonable comfort.

Menu boards and posters scattered around added to the cozy atmosphere, giving the feeling of stepping into an old neighborhood favorite and making the meal feel even more relaxed.
The menu and kiosk ordering: what we picked

Each table had its own kiosk for ordering, so we could order comfortably from our seats without calling a staff member. Alongside various pork dishes like pork belly and pork neck, they also sold fresh seafood like scallops, abalone, and rock oysters. Since you can enjoy meat and seafood in one place, it seemed easy to mix and match dishes to your taste.

Sometimes you want both meat and seafood at once. At Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch, you don't have to agonize over the menu — you can enjoy both in one sitting, which felt like a real advantage 🥹 We ordered pork and seafood together that day and had a generous spread. Below, I'll introduce each dish we ordered.
- Pork platter (one geun) – ₩38,000
- Grilled scallops – ₩12,900
- Water naengmyeon – ₩4,900
- Doenjang jjigae – ₩2,500
Side dishes and the icy radish salad (mu-saengchae)

The basic side dishes came out first — pickled lettuce, bean sprouts, garlic and more, good to eat alongside the meat, and some were meant to be grilled on the pan too. They were nice to nibble on while waiting for the meat to cook, and grilling them added even more variety.

There was also lettuce for wraps and mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad) served with a slight icy chill. It was refreshing alongside the meat, and wrapping it up with the meat added another layer of flavor 😆

Then they lit the charcoal briquette — and the heat was so strong you could feel it just by getting close! With that gentle smoky aroma and intense heat, the meat looked set to cook up beautifully, and our anticipation grew before the meal even started.
What cuts come in the 38,000-won pork platter?
The pork platter at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch, priced at 38,000 won, let us try pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, skirt meat, back meat, and pork skin all at once. Unlike ordering just one cut, this let us enjoy a variety of cuts together.

We started grilling the platter first. It seemed especially well suited for first-time visitors or people who like a variety of textures.
Watching the meat turn a golden brown over the charcoal already looked delicious 🥹 That said, since the charcoal heat is quite strong, I'd recommend flipping the meat frequently as it cooks.
Pairing 2,500-won doenjang jjigae with 4,900-won naengmyeon
While waiting for the meat to cook, the side dishes we'd ordered started arriving one by one. First up was the bubbling doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), which had a savory doenjang flavor with a spicy kick — spicier than expected, and completely to my taste 🥹
It was packed with tofu and various vegetables, and the spicy, warm broth cut through the richness of the meat nicely. Plus, the doenjang jjigae here is reasonably priced, making it a great side to order alongside the meat.

The water naengmyeon (cold noodles) arrived along with the jjigae. I love pairing freshly grilled meat with cool naengmyeon at a Korean BBQ place, and here the noodles were reasonably priced and generously portioned, which I appreciated even more 😆
The noodles had a springy bite and the broth had a nice savory depth, pairing well when wrapped with the meat too. It was good not just alongside the meat but on its own — a refreshing bowl to finish the meal with as dessert.

How the charcoal-grilled pork tastes: smoke and juices
While we were enjoying the jjigae and naengmyeon, the meat was cooking up nicely golden. I was surprised on the first bite — it had that intense smoky flavor you'd get from meat grilled over charcoal at a campsite 🔥 The strong heat of the charcoal briquette really came through in the meat, not subtly but filling the whole mouth with smoky flavor, letting us fully experience the charm of charcoal grilling.
Maybe thanks to the strong charcoal heat, the juices inside the meat stayed moist too. Eating the smoky meat together with the cool naengmyeon cleansed the palate nicely, and the two dishes paired really well together 😆
All the cuts in the pork platter were delicious overall, but personally, the pork belly and pork jowl brought out their distinctive richness best when grilled over charcoal — those were my favorites 😆

The last part of the pork platter was the pork skin. Grilled crisp and golden over the charcoal, it had that signature chewy texture, with a subtly sweet aroma that came through the more you chewed. Since you can enjoy pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, skirt meat, and pork skin all in one order, the pork platter is a great pick if you want to sample a variety of cuts 😆
Grilled scallops for 12,900 won over charcoal

Having thoroughly enjoyed the meat, it was time to try the grilled scallops 😋 The scallops were plump and looked fresh at a glance.
We put them straight on the charcoal. Watching the scallops cook over the briquette felt like being at a dedicated shellfish grill restaurant. Even though I was already quite full from the meat, seeing the scallops somehow revived my appetite, since it was a different kind of food entirely 😅

The scallops grilled over charcoal took on a subtle smoky note while still keeping their distinctive sweetness. The bouncy, chewy texture of the shellfish meat — something you don't get from the pork — added a different kind of charm to the meal 😆 If you want to enjoy meat and seafood together, I'd recommend adding grilled scallops at Euljiro Yeontan Gui too.
