Chicken quesadilla and Budweiser draft in Cheongna, Incheon: Taco Dot
In short
Taco Dot Cheongna Branch is a Mexican restaurant specialising in chimichangas and tacos in Cheongna, Incheon. On the way to the Gueup Boat Pier on Yeongjong Island, the writer stopped in for a chicken quesadilla and a chimichanga, with a Budweiser draft beer in between. The quesadilla tortilla was packed thick with filling and the chimichanga came with two homemade sauces worth going back to, so Taco Dot Cheongna also works well for group gatherings.

What is the atmosphere like at Taco Dot Cheongna?

Taco Dot Cheongna Branch felt like Mexico from the outside alone. I love Mexican food so I was already excited. The clean white-and-brown interior went really well with the rustic Taco Dot logo.

Taco Dot Cheongna Branch has a spacious layout with lots of seats. And the seating interior gives off such a foreign vibe that it felt like I was traveling abroad haha. I could tell every little detail of the interior was carefully thought out.

There's also a baby chair ready, so it's great for families too. And since tables can be combined, it's great for groups as well. If you're looking for a group gathering restaurant in Cheongna, I recommend Taco Dot Cheongna Branch! Also, one side has a forest view, so you can relax in a peaceful atmosphere.

Chicken quesadilla review: how thick is the filling?
First, I had the quesadilla at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch. Quesadilla is a Mexican dish where meat and cheese are stuffed inside a tortilla and grilled on a griddle.

The portion was generous, and it was freshly grilled so it was so delicious! It also came with sour cream sauce, which made it even more appealing.

At other places, quesadillas are sometimes really thin with skimpy filling, but at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch the tortilla was packed thick inside.
I ordered the chicken one, and the chicken pieces inside were seriously chunky!!!! I could tell Taco Dot Cheongna Branch is serious about their ingredients.

A glass of Budweiser draft beer with the meal
In the middle of the meal, I had a Budweiser draft beer to refresh my palate. Maybe because Budweiser draft is hard to come by, it tasted even better!!!! If you want a light drink with your meal, I recommend Taco Dot Cheongna Branch haha.

What kind of dish is a chimichanga?
Next, I ordered the chimichanga. Chimichanga is a dish where fried rice and cheese are wrapped in a tortilla, deep-fried, and served with two homemade sauces on the side. I first learned about chimichanga through a mukbang YouTuber, and it's genuinely the Mexican food I'm obsessed with these days haha. If you haven't tried it, you really should give it a shot!!!

One sauce seemed to be a chili sauce, and the other seemed to be jalapeño-based. Apparently this homemade sauce recipe was developed after a lot of testing and trial and error. So the sauce was so delicious that I kept going back for more. I could feel that the owner put genuine care into every single dish at Taco Dot Cheongna Branch.

If you haven't tried chimichanga, definitely give it a try. The flavor wasn't fully localized to Korean taste, and had a slightly exotic quality that made it even more appealing. That said, it's not weird-exotic at all!! I think the owner really knows Mexican food.
Verdict on Taco Dot Cheongna in one line
Both the quesadilla and chimichanga were so delicious that I wanted to try everything else on the menu too. If I come back, I'll try the fajita platter and tacos. If you're looking for a great restaurant in Cheongna for group gatherings, I recommend Taco Dot Cheongna Branch, a taco spot in Cheongna.
