Weekend couple date at a Gimhae large café: honey tomato juice, Peer a

In short

Peer a Peer is a large bakery café spanning about 6,600 square meters in Jinrye-myeon, Gimhae, Gyeongnam. Visiting on a weekend with her husband, the writer ordered honey tomato juice, a decaf iced americano, pain au chocolat and an almond croissant, all delicious, with the honey tomato juice standing out for its not-artificial sweetness. With parking for about 100 cars and a dog-friendly outdoor terrace, it's a solid pick for anyone hunting for a large café in Gimhae or Jangyu.

My husband and I went on a weekend date to Peer a Peer, a large café in Jinrye, Gimhae. His coworkers had been telling him for ages there was a good large café in Jinrye, so we finally made it out there!

The exterior alone was massive — genuinely one of the big cafés of Gimhae. I've been to a lot of Jangyu cafés and this one ranks among the best. The coffee was good, the bread was good.

Outdoor terrace and dog-friendly seating

There's outdoor terrace seating too. The landscaping is done so well that sitting out there with a light breeze and a coffee would be amazing... ㅠㅠ

A revived 40-year-old factory turned 6,600-square-meter cultural space

Peer a Peer revived a 40-year-old factory, turning it into a roughly 6,600-square-meter stay-and-linger cultural space where you can experience coffee, bakery, books, exhibitions, and performances all in one place. For a revived 40-year-old factory, the interior was way too pretty and nice.

Even the entrance was a huge door you had to push open.

Peer a Peer's menu and Momos Coffee beans

Turns out Peer a Peer's coffee is made with Momos Coffee beans...! Seriously wow, Momos Coffee is super famous in Busan with brutal waits every time, and here they're using the same beans?! Premium beans, no less. There's espresso, drip coffee, einspänner, decaf coffee, and more, with different roast levels to choose from depending on your taste, plus a wide variety of other drinks.

Art pieces and spacious seating

There were art pieces scattered throughout, and the seats were arranged with plenty of room.

They turned a defunct factory into interiors with a real sense of style, and true to a large café, it was very spacious.

There were even big group tables placed in front of the art like this.

There were all kinds of art pieces, and a lot of stylish interior touches. The lighting fixtures were pretty too.

Bakery lineup — croissants, salt bread, cakes

The bestseller! Lemon meringue croissant, piled high with lemon meringue on top of a croissant.

Apple cream pie, butter tteok (rice cake).

There were several kinds of croissants too — plain croissant / almond croissant. I picked the almond croissant!

The salt bread lineup was varied too — plain salt bread / red bean butter salt bread / pollock roe salt bread. And whenever the trays ran empty, the staff kept refilling them — things that were sold out when I paid were restocked again later.

Pain au chocolat / churro chocolate salt bread. My husband said he wanted pain au chocolat, so I picked that, and it was delicious. Piled with cocoa powder too haha. The salt bread selection is really something, haha.

There were butter rings and rusks too.

Slice cakes, wakbbu salt bread, and tiramisu were there too.

What we ordered: honey tomato juice and almond croissant

I ordered honey tomato juice / decaf iced americano, pain au chocolat / almond croissant.

Honey tomato juice, decaf iced americano, and two kinds of bread

The honey tomato juice was really, really good. Not an artificial sweetness — the combination of tomato with a not-too-sweet honey was genuinely delicious.

Everything we ordered was tasty~!

The almond croissant had cream inside too, so it wasn't dry and was really nice to eat.

If you're looking for a Gimhae café, a Jangyu café, or a large café in Gimhae, I recommend Peer a Peer in Jinrye~!!!!
