Family Korean BBQ in Gwangalli, Busan: Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui
In short
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is a Korean barbecue restaurant near Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. Our family of four adults and one 5-year-old enjoyed pork belly, pork neck, and ageosal, with staff grilling everything and even cutting the child’s meat. Verdict: a wonderfully considerate choice for dining with children and grandparents.

I put a lot of thought into finding a place for a meal with my parents in their 60s, an uncle and mom in their 30s, and a 5-year-old—and we were completely satisfied in the end! Let me give you the conclusion first!

- For anyone looking for a nice Korean BBQ restaurant near Gwangalli Beach
- For anyone who wants delicious meat grilled by the staff
- For anyone looking for a clean BBQ restaurant with friendly staff
They really don’t just start grilling and leave—they take care of everything from beginning to end, haha. It was my first time seeing a place that even cuts up the meat for a child.... Plus, every staff member seemed to come with a smile preinstalled, so I thought, surely that kind of cheerfulness can’t be taught in staff training—did they hire based on MBTI? Haha. I think it’s well worth a visit!

Atmospheric Interior and Children’s Chairs
The exterior looks like this ⬇️ It has that fresh-new-building feel, haha.

The restaurant interior is a little dim. Maybe that’s why it feels upscale overall! I think people looking for an atmospheric Korean BBQ restaurant would like it.

Children’s Chairs
They have not only high chairs but also Bumbo seats! Even very young babies should be able to sit comfortably. There’s also a mannequin with aprons hanging on it.

Side Dishes and Meat Sauces
The standard spread comes with four side dishes and five sauces for the meat!

Four Side Dishes
I take side dishes very seriously, haha, so I always have to take individual shots of them! Every side dish here was delicious~ 👍 I especially love bean sprouts, and the seasoned bean sprouts had a chewy-noodle-style seasoning. I’d never had bean sprouts like this before, and they were so good. My mother is a great cook, so I’ve already told her she has to make them for me sometime!

Sauces
There was green onion soy sauce, wasabi, salt, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), and myeoljeot (salted anchovy sauce).

Our Pork Belly, Pork Neck, and Ageosal Order
Please see the slides below for the full menu!

For four adults and one child, we ordered two portions each of fresh pork belly, fresh pork neck, and ageosal, plus one doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and three bowls of rice!
Pork Belly and Pork Neck
Below are two portions each of pork belly and pork neck!

The staff grill everything from start to finish.

They started by grilling the pork neck!

Once cooked, they place the meat around the metal edge of the grill. For the first piece of pork neck, they dipped it in myeoljeot and lightly grilled it. They said it would be good with wasabi, and it was seriously amazing, haha. The pork neck here was more tender than the pork belly. Pork neck was my favorite!
Then they immediately grilled the pork belly too. Since pork belly is a fattier cut, they recommended eating it with salt and wasabi. Having them grill it all the way through and recommend the sauces made an everyday cut of pork belly feel so much more refined!

Ageosal
My mother was curious about ageosal too, so we added two portions. Just from the name, I thought it might be a little tough, so I asked a staff member. They said ageosal is a deep cut from inside the neck and isn’t tough at all, so we ordered it, haha.

But it somehow looked a bit like an alligator... haha. They grilled this one as a full-service course too!

Ageosal has a pleasantly chewy texture. My mother said it was her favorite. She said it felt like eating tender beef...!

Maybe because everything was grilled for us, the pork overall felt more upscale than the pork we usually eat!! 👍
Doenjang-jjigae
Why It’s Great for Dining with Children
With two types of children’s chairs available, it seemed like a very child-friendly BBQ restaurant! Of course they had children’s forks and spoons, and the staff even cut up the meat for our child to eat! Haha. In five years of raising my son, this was the first Korean BBQ restaurant where someone had personally cut his meat for him, haha. This emotional F-type mom was touched 😭
