Why Ryusenso is a well-known ramen restaurant in Jeonpo
Ryusenso, famous as a Busan ramen restaurant, is great for solo dining and open 24 hours, so I've often stopped by for a post-drinking hangover fix or just to eat alone! The flavor is similar to the famous Ichiran Ramen in Fukuoka, so it's a Jeonpo spot that pretty much any Korean would love.

Counter seating only: arrive at opening and skip the wait
Inside, Ryusenso is entirely counter seating, a small space with only about 6 tables' worth of room, so during lunch or dinner it's always full with a wait — that's how popular this Jeonpo spot is. I went early to catch the opening run, so luckily I got in right away haha.

At the seat, the necessary condiments, an order sheet, and water are all neatly set up. Full-on 'came to Japan for solo ramen' vibes (★‿★)

How to order at Ryusenso and what the order was this time
This is Ryusenso's menu! You write it down on paper and hand it to the staff. Here's what I ordered!
- ✔️ Ryusenso Kara (spicy Hakata tonkotsu ramen) (₩11,000)
- ✔️ Ajitamago add-on (₩1,000)
- ✔️ Tori karaage (₩7,000)
That's what I went with (★‿★)

With takana (pickled mustard greens) and pickled ginger, I was ready to dig in! There was also minced garlic set out so you could make it even more savory partway through. Highly, highly recommend adding minced garlic when you want a new flavor while eating ..❤️❤️

One great thing about Ryusenso, this Jeonpo ramen spot — the open kitchen means you can watch the whole cooking process! The kitchen was actually so spotless that it felt like a place you could trust 😚😚

How spicy is Ryusenso Kara level 1?
Here comes the main event. This is the Hakata-style spicy ramen I ordered! I went with level 1. I'm not exactly weak against spice either, but... last time I ordered level 2 it was so spicy that this time I timidly went with level 1!
- Level 1 ➡️ Shin Ramyun spicy
- Level 2 ➡️ Buldak Bokkeum Myeon spicy
- Level 3 ➡️ ??? beyond that...
I haven't tried level 3 so I don't know, but... that one's for the true spice masters only.....😊

The ajitamago I ordered alongside was so runny and gorgeous, right? This is basically the egg version of a flawless idol face (?)

The chashu (braised pork) had thick, generous slices too. It was soft enough to cut easily, so I cut it to bite size and had it with the ramen in one bite haha.

Wood ear mushrooms and scallions were in there too. The noodles are thin, so they're great for slurping haha. I personally prefer thin noodles over thick ones for ramen, and the doneness was perfect too — exactly my style! If you're Korean, there's no way you wouldn't love Ryusenso, this Jeonpo ramen spot.

The side dish: tori karaage with two sauces
The tori karaage (₩7,000) I ordered at Ryusenso comes with two sauces! Whenever I've come to this Jeonpo ramen spot I always ordered gyoza, but this time I wanted to try something different, so karaage it was! Fried chicken — there's no way that's not delicious ㅎㅅㅎ

Dipping it right into the sauce, yum haha. Personally, I liked that mayo-based sauce better than the soy sauce one! The crispiness of the fry and the smooth sauce were just perfect together!

Can you see how juicy the inside is... So moist and chewy, it was such a delicious karaage ㅎㅅㅎ

When to add minced garlic and pepper to change the flavor
Time to switch things up — in went the minced garlic! I added pepper along with it too! The savory depth came alive even more, and I loved it. I wouldn't recommend adding it right away — enjoy the original flavor first, then add the minced garlic and pepper for round two, that's what I'd recommend!

The karaage topped with chopped scallions was so good too... Dipping it deep in the soy sauce and topping it with scallions was pure bliss... I really enjoyed my meal at Ryusenso, this Jeonpo ramen spot!
Final verdict on Ryusenso
I visited Ryusenso, already famous as a top Jeonpo ramen restaurant! Even though it had been a while since my last visit, the quality hadn't changed at all. The spicy ramen is exactly the flavor Koreans would love, and it's my top recommendation on the menu! There's a good variety of sides too, so I definitely recommend ordering one alongside your ramen haha. Switching up the flavor with minced garlic partway through is a must... it's the flawless combo...
Since it's open 24 hours in Jeonpo and has seating that's perfect for eating solo, it's a place you can drop into anytime without any pressure for a filling meal! Highly recommend it in Jeonpo whether for a hangover cure or just a regular meal!
