Soybean powder pork skin at Sinwolseong, Daegu galbi house Baeksanu
In short
Baeksanu Sutbul Wolsong Main Branch is a charcoal pork galbi restaurant on Joam-ro in Sinwolseong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. Two of us ordered the real pork galbi 1kg in the 40,000-won range pre-grilled and finished the whole thing, added doenjang stew and steamed egg, ate the free pork skin dipped in soybean powder, and closed with a slushie. With a kids' playroom on site, Baeksanu Sutbul works just as well for a family dinner as for a group night out.

A Wolseong-dong pork galbi restaurant recommended for family meals — comfortable thanks to a full kids' playroom.

Insane value at 1kg of pork galbi for ₩40,000-something, a huge playroom that's a paradise for kids, and the convenience of it coming pre-grilled — perfect! I found a hot spot in Wolseong-dong.

Baeksanu Sutbul is a Wolseong-dong pork galbi spot that cuts out a lot of the middle distribution process, so you can always enjoy fresh, trustworthy top-grade meat at a reasonable price.
Inside Baeksanu Sutbul Wolsong Main Branch and its kids' playroom
Walking into Baeksanu Sutbul Wolseong Main Branch, the stylish interior unique to the brand made the whole dining atmosphere feel a lot more upscale.

No slippery floors or hazy smoke that you usually get at a barbecue place — it was pleasant.

There's a pre-grilling station in the middle that's fun to watch, and with sausages hanging all over it, it kind of felt like being in prehistoric times, haha.

Best of all, there's a full playroom inside the restaurant, so kids can run around while the adults grill meat at their leisure — this really is a healing spot for family dining.

If you're looking for a spacious, pleasant Sinwolseong barbecue place for a get-together with kids or a large group dinner, this seems like the answer.
Baeksanu Sutbul menu and prices
Today I ordered Baeksanu Sutbul's signature real pork galbi (진짜 돼지갈비), 1kg. Besides meat, there were plenty of drinking-snack and side menu options like stir-fried squid and grilled cheese scallops, so there was a wide range to choose from.

There's currently a review event giving away doenjang stew or cheese scallops, so join in and enjoy it twice as much!

Side dishes and the self-serve wrap vegetable bar
After ordering, they set out neat side dishes — fresh cut kimchi, kimchi, and a solid lineup that pairs perfectly with meat.

You can freely top up whatever's running low at the self-serve corner. The wrap vegetables were fresh, and they even had kale — I loved that.
What is the real pork galbi 1kg like pre-grilled?
Baeksanu Sutbul's real pork galbi 1kg is also available unrigrilled, but for convenience I ordered it pre-grilled. While we chatted and sampled the side dishes, the galbi came out with a mountain-like presentation.

Since it comes out already nicely browned over charcoal, on the table you're just adding a bit of charcoal aroma and it's ready to eat in no time — so convenient.
Skipping the hassle of grilling from scratch made it feel perfect for family meals or work dinners too.

The charcoal heat was so strong that the seasoned galbi looked like it might burn, so I set half aside in a bowl and grilled it slowly.

Cut into bite-size pieces with scissors, then swirled around the pan with tongs so it doesn't burn — and out comes perfectly grilled pork galbi, glistening with shine 💕

Usually seasoned galbi gets tiresome fast, but the seasoning here was subtle and brought out a deeper savoriness.

It wasn't just sweet, in-your-face store-bought sauce — it had been a while since I enjoyed pork galbi this much.

The kale's refreshing, pleasant bitterness paired perfectly with the sweet seasoning of the galbi — I could eat it endlessly.

I wondered whether two people could really finish 1kg, but we ended up neatly picking the galbi clean off the bone.
Adding doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) and steamed egg
Once we were fairly full on meat, we added steamed egg and doenjang stew (된장찌개, soybean paste stew). Koreans really do run on rice power, haha.

The doenjang stew had that savory, earthy soybean paste taste followed by a spicy, refreshing depth that really settled the stomach.

The steamed egg had a texture that just melts away and a nutty flavor — an essential menu item at any barbecue place.

Free pork skin with soybean powder, then a slushie
And here's what I loved most about Baeksanu Sutbul — the pork skin (껍데기) is free, so we could eat it to our hearts' content.
Usually when something's free the quality isn't great, but this was fresh with no gamey smell at all. Dipped in soybean powder, it was so tasty.

We finished the meal cleanly with a cool, refreshing slushie. If you're looking for a barbecue place in Wolseong-dong for a comfortable family meal or a group get-together, definitely visit Baeksanu Sutbul!
