Jeonpo ramen restaurant with level 3 spicy broth, Busan: Ryusenso

In short

Ryusenso is a 24-hour Hakata tonkotsu ramen restaurant on Seojeon-ro 58beon-gil near Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan. The order was the basic Ryusenso Ramen, Ryusenso Kara at spice level 3 and a side of karaage (Japanese fried chicken): the level 3 broth came bright red and genuinely hot, while the basic broth was deep but not heavy. With about 8 counter seats around an open kitchen, Ryusenso suits solo diners and groups of two or three.

A few days ago I visited a tonkotsu ramen restaurant I absolutely love!! It's Ryusenso, a Jeonpo ramen spot that anyone who hangs around Jeonpo a lot will know 💃🏻💃🏻

Finding Ryusenso near Jeonpo Station, open 24 hours

Ryusenso is a 24-hour ramen restaurant near Jeonpo Station on Seojeon-ro 58beon-gil in Busan. The sign isn't super noticeable, so I took a photo for anyone who hasn't seen it. Finding a place to eat solo around Seomyeon and Jeonpo is surprisingly hard, but this place is such a good spot for solo dining!!!!

Ryusenso's entrance marking its 24-hour operation

You can see it clearly says 24 at the entrance right? Apparently there's a break time from 7:00 to 10:00 haha

Break time notice posted at the Ryusenso entrance

How to order at Ryusenso and what comes on the table

Ryusenso's menu is a check-with-a-pen kind of system. Kind of reminds me of Ichiran ramen haha

Ryusenso ramen menu checked off with a pen

On the table there was water, chopsticks, a small plate, sesame seeds, pepper, shichimi, pickled mustard greens, minced garlic, and pickled ginger all set up haha

Table setting with sesame seeds, pickled mustard greens, and more

About 8 counter seats: good for solo diners or two to three people

Ryusenso's seating is all counter (dachi) seats, and there are only about 8 of them, so it's not roomy, but it seems perfect for 2 to 3 people!!! haha

Ryusenso's roughly 8-seat counter

Since it's set up as an open kitchen like this, you can watch the whole cooking process, which I liked even more!!! It felt clean and trustworthy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Turns out the owner of this place also runs several well-known restaurants? Definitely someone who really knows their food, I'd say 👍🏻👍🏻 There was even a note posted about how to enjoy the ramen 👏🏻👏🏻

Ryusenso Ramen and Ryusenso Kara level 3: how spicy is it?

We ordered the Ryusenso Ramen (Hakata tonkotsu ramen) and the Ryusenso Kara (Hakata spicy tonkotsu ramen) at level 3!!! Ta-da—

Two bowls: Ryusenso Ramen and Ryusenso Kara level 3

There was a decent variety of side dishes too, so I was torn between gyoza dumplings and karaage, but karaage won out and that's what we ordered 🍗🍗

A plate of karaage ordered as a side dish

Can you see the color of the broth??? Since it's level 3, the broth is bright red hahahaha I ordered level 3 riding on spicy-food confidence, but since I haven't been eating spicy food much lately, it was definitely spicy? lol

The bright red broth of Ryusenso Kara level 3

My companion ordered the basic tonkotsu ramen, and when I tried a sip of the broth, it was rich without being greasy and really delicious 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I always think next time I'll order the non-spicy version, but somehow I always end up ordering spicy haha

The rich broth of the basic Hakata tonkotsu ramen

Wood ear mushrooms, sesame seeds and minced garlic in the bowl

Do you like wood ear mushroom? I love it so much 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Slurping it up together with the ramen noodles is so good 🤤🤤 Next time I need to add extra wood ear mushroom!!!! haha

I also sprinkled the sesame seeds from the table onto the ramen and tried it that way haha While eating, I added some minced garlic too and it was a whole different flavor?? The broth was so rich and delicious. As for the pickled mustard greens that come with it, they were so good I kept helping myself to more haha

Ramen broth topped with sesame seeds and minced garlic

Ryusenso karaage and its two dipping sauces

Everyone!!!!! Ryusenso is also a karaage spot worth knowing about!!!!!! The karaage sauce was so, so good too? It comes with two sauces, and I found this mayonnaise-ish one to be the tastiest. I dipped the hot karaage right into it and devoured it haha

Karaage served with two kinds of sauce

Who should try this 24-hour ramen spot in Jeonpo

Ta - da. Finished it all clean. Even with the pickled mustard greens and the spicy broth, I slurped down every last bit 🤣🤣🤣 Also, if you live nearby, delivery is apparently available too, so check the delivery apps and enjoy it comfortably at home — sounds so nice, I'm jealous 🤤🤤

24-hour ramen restaurants aren't common around Seomyeon and Jeonpo, so if you ever need a solo meal, I recommend giving this place a visit. I'll leave the location and info below 💕💕💕
