Boneless dakbal (chicken feet) at Seomyeon restaurant Sinineurin

Sinineurin Dakbal, a well-known dakbal spot in Seomyeon, sits in the alley right behind Lotte Department Store's rear gate, so it wasn't hard to find! I thought the alley location might make it tricky, but there was a sign pointing the way haha. Nice.

Seating and wait

There were seats toward the back too, and it felt pretty spacious! But by around 7pm it was almost completely full. Everyone kept asking each other how they found this alley... it wasn't that hard to find (?), but it definitely lived up to its reputation as a famous dakbal spot in Seomyeon!

The basic side dishes were a mayo-drizzled cabbage salad and pickled radish! They were great for cutting the spice of the dakbal haha.

A Seomyeon bar where you can watch baseball

Sinineurin Dakbal also has a big TV so you can watch baseball! I came early and got the best seat for the game (though my team lost in the end ^_ㅠ).

Furikake rice balls

First we dug into the rice balls — an essential companion to dakbal. Since we were having dakbal, I skipped the tuna mayo version and went with furikake rice balls, which felt like an upgraded version of plain seaweed-flake rice balls haha. Nice.

Clam soup set

Since I can't drink without soup, I picked the best-selling clam soup set. The clam soup was spicy and delicious!

Boneless dakbal and pudding-like steamed egg

The dakbal and the pudding-like steamed egg arrived, completing a full spread of everything that pairs well with dakbal — we ordered it all. We got the dakbal in regular spice level (Shin Ramyun level)! The pudding steamed egg was insanely soft and jiggly. Total omakase-style chawanmushi vibes!!

Even 'regular' spice is spicy, mayo and perilla leaves are free

We went with the boneless option that day, and the regular spice level turned out spicier than expected, so I was glad we chose boneless over bone-in dakbal. Also, Sinineurin Dakbal doesn't provide mayonnaise or perilla leaves by default, but you can order them for free through the kiosk — worth ordering alongside your meal for extra flavor haha.

How is anyone supposed to resist soju with dakbal? We did come specifically to drink soju though (?)

One bite in, it was so spicy we immediately ordered mayo. Rice ball + dakbal + mayo — who doesn't know this combo...?

Perilla leaf + rice ball + dakbal + mayo — the perilla leaves that came out were huge, and so fragrant ;;; That smoky charred flavor paired so well with the fragrant perilla leaf!!

Adding noodles to the clam soup

Don't forget to add noodles to the clam soup ㅠ The noodles come pre-boiled, but even a quick simmer lets them soak up the seasoning nicely and get deliciously salty! We would have regretted it if we hadn't added the noodles.

The noodles paired so well with the spicy, fiery dakbal that we ate it all up happily. With the noodle add-in, three of us ate incredibly well and got completely full! Sinineurin Dakbal in Seomyeon really has great value for the price too!

Final verdict

I visited Sinineurin Dakbal, a Seomyeon dakbal spot where you can watch baseball! Great value, with a nice charcoal-grilled flavor — perfect for Seomyeon office workers to unwind after work with dakbal and soju. Highly recommend! Just note that even the regular spice level is quite hot, and I'd say perilla leaves, mayo, and the noodle add-in for the clam soup aren't optional extras — they're essential haha. It was so delicious that I'd say I'm 1000% likely to come back!
