Family dinner with kids and board games at Shashlik Jinhae Branch

We went to Jinhae Art Hall Library with the kids over the weekend and looked for a place nearby to grab dinner too. I wanted something the kids could eat but different from our usual go-to menus, and that's how I found Shashlik Jinhae Branch! Shashlik was a bit unfamiliar to us as a dish, but since our family loves meat, it looked like a good fit, so we went for dinner haha.

Location and hours of Shashlik Jinhae Branch

Shashlik Jinhae Branch is located on the 2nd floor of a building near Seokdong Neighborhood Park. Being close to the park made it easy to find, and once you head up to the 2nd floor, you'll spot the restaurant.

Parking: 1 hour supported at Seokdong Parking Lot

We used a nearby public parking lot that day. Apparently, if you use Seokdong Parking Lot on the 2nd floor of the building right next to the restaurant, you get 1 hour of parking support. If you're driving, it seems best to use Seokdong Parking Lot.

The interior had a really nice atmosphere

Walking inside, it felt a bit different from the typical Korean BBQ restaurant vibe I expected. With greenery-filled plant decor and soft lighting, the whole place felt clean yet cozy!

The tables were spacious too, which seemed great for dining with kids like us. It felt like a space that would suit dates, gatherings with friends, and family outings alike.

It's also a dog-friendly spot, so anyone looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in Jinhae might want to keep this in mind.

We visited in the evening, but apparently they recently started serving lunch too. It used to be an evening-only spot, but now you can visit for lunch as well, so if you're looking for a good lunch spot in Jinhae, give it a try!

Board games to pass the time while waiting

One side of the restaurant had a variety of board games set up. It was nice to be able to play board games with the kids while waiting for the food.

The kids got interested the moment they saw them haha. It kept the waiting time from getting boring.

Easy ordering with a QR code

You order by scanning the QR code at the table with your phone. It was convenient to browse the menu at your leisure and order right away from your seat.

For shashlik, there's pork, chicken leg, special, and handmade sausage, and for sides there's tomato spaghetti and cheese fried rice.

And true to being a dog-friendly restaurant, they also sell a dog menu for pets! Great to keep in mind if you're visiting with your dog haha.

We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we first ordered the Special Shashlik and tomato spaghetti.

Several meats at once: the Special Shashlik

After a short wait, our Special Shashlik arrived. True to its name, it wasn't just one type of meat — the set let us taste a variety, including pork belly, pork shoulder, and chicken.

The meat came out nicely grilled and golden brown, so it was convenient to just dig in right away. Especially with kids, going to a barbecue place usually means juggling grilling and looking after them, but since it came already cooked, we could eat at ease. The meat was great plain or dipped in the accompanying sauce.

Eating it together with the grilled mushrooms and pineapple refreshed our palate rather than just eating meat the whole time. The sweetness of the grilled pineapple in particular paired surprisingly well with the meat haha.

Tomato spaghetti the kids really loved

Meat alone felt a bit lacking, so we also ordered tomato spaghetti. Apparently they use a homemade sauce instead of a store-bought spaghetti sauce.

We meant to try it ourselves, but the kids ate it up so fast we barely got a chance haha. The two of them polished it off so neatly that it seemed like a great dish to order if you're visiting with kids.

French fries from the review event

We also got fries from the review event. As soon as the fries arrived, the kids' hands got busy first, of course haha. Taking part in the review event lets you choose one of fries, iced tea, or the monthly event!

After the meat, cheese fried rice too

After finishing the Special Shashlik, we finally ordered cheese fried rice. You just can't skip fried rice after eating meat haha. They make the fried rice in the same pan the meat was cooked in, then pile on a generous amount of cheese — a combo that's hard to make unappetizing just from looks alone! Scooping up the cheese and rice together was savory and filling, making it a great way to wrap up the meal. If you order shashlik, it's worth ordering this alongside.

A family dinner out at Shashlik Jinhae Branch

It was a refreshing change from our usual barbecue spots. We had a filling meal, from the Special Shashlik with its variety of meats, to the tomato spaghetti the kids loved, to the cheese fried rice at the end. We visited in the evening, but since they've recently started lunch service too, if you're looking for a place to eat out with family in Jinhae or a different kind of Western food restaurant in Jinhae, give this one a try. :)
