Italian restaurant in Jeonpo, Busan: barley risotto for two, Brassway
In short
Brassway is an Italian home-style restaurant in a mint-colored building on a side street in Jeonpo-dong, Busanjin, Busan. After booking ahead, the writer visited with a friend and ordered the signature Brassway galbi pasta (braised short rib pasta), served in a metal pot with tender meat, and the roast chicken cream risotto made with barley, which had a pleasantly chewy texture; both plates were finished. Brassway seats reserved guests first, so booking in advance is the safer way to go.

I heard there was a hidden Western food gem in Jeonpo-dong, Seomyeon, so I went to check out Brassway, known for its Italian home-style cooking :)

It's in a mint-colored building tucked in a small Jeonpo-dong alley, a well-known Seomyeon spot for Italian home cooking — pasta, brunch, steak, all kinds of menus to try.

Brassway isn't far from Jeonpo Station, so it's easy to get to — it's near the Jeonpo café street, so it's easy to find too. There are plenty of other good restaurants, cafés, and gift shops around, making it perfect for a date course.

Why book ahead at Brassway, and what the mint-colored dining room feels like
Brassway prioritizes reservations, so I booked through Naver before visiting. Walking in, even though it was early, the place was already full of people. It's cozy with a great vibe — famous even as a spot for wedding invitation gatherings.
I'd recommend making a reservation before you go.

The space wasn't huge, but it had a feel like being abroad — I'd recommend it for dates or gatherings. The window seats had great atmosphere, and our table also felt lovely thanks to the cute little decor pieces.

The Brassway chef's background and the menu lineup
The chef at this Jeonpo pasta and Italian home-cooking restaurant graduated from the Advanced Diploma program at Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world's top three culinary schools, and built experience at restaurants and bistros abroad, the 5-star Sofitel, and the Signiel Hotel in Korea, drawing on all of that to create Brassway's own food.

You can feel the care in every part of the interior here, and above all, the staff were all so kind.

On the comfortable base of Italian home cooking, they layer Korean flavors to create a Jeonpo-style pasta plate that feels both familiar and new — a Seomyeon spot you'll want to visit again once you've been once.

There were plenty of menu options — pasta, risotto, steak, pizza, salad, side dishes, and more.

For brunch it feels like a relaxed Western meal, and for dinner it feels like a great place to pair with wine. There are wines that go well with the dishes too, so if you're looking for an atmospheric restaurant, I'd recommend it.

Every table was set neatly, and there were even letters written to visiting guests — it felt like a place where you could enjoy a meal in a warm, comfortable atmosphere, like a small European dining table.

What two people ordered: galbi pasta and roast chicken cream risotto
The two of us ordered the Brassway galbi pasta and the roast chicken cream risotto. The galbi pasta is Brassway's signature menu, and the roast chicken cream risotto is one of the popular items.

Brassway galbi pasta: tender short rib in a metal pot
The Brassway galbi pasta is the restaurant's signature dish, a soy-sauce-based pasta that reworks the chef's father-in-law's 20-year braised galbi (short rib) recipe in Brassway's own way.

Being served in a brass pot was already special, and the first bite was so good — the meat was so tender too.

Roast chicken cream risotto made with barley
The roast chicken cream risotto is one of the popular menu items — a rich cream barley risotto with deep mushroom flavor, paired with roast chicken in a special doenjang (soybean paste) sauce.

The chicken was so good, and because it's a barley risotto, the texture was really great too.

We cleaned both plates completely.
Is Brassway a good spot for a get-together?
I spent a relaxed time with my friend enjoying the atmosphere at this Jeonpo pasta and Italian home-cooking restaurant, Brassway. While I was eating, there were actually two other groups having wedding invitation gatherings there. That's how much I'd recommend it as a spot for get-togethers.
If you're looking for a Seomyeon, Jeonpo-dong restaurant that's perfect both in taste and atmosphere, definitely pay a visit. With its varied menu and good access, it's ideal for dates or gatherings — I recommend Brassway, an Italian home-cooking Jeonpo pasta restaurant.
