On a day when I badly needed a hangover cure after drinking way too much the night before, I finished up my errands in Seomyeon and went looking for a good spot to eat alone — that's how I ended up at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon! Where is Gang Galbitang Seomyeon, and what are its hours and parking?

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is at 33 Saessak-ro, 1F, Busanjin-gu, Busan, about 318m from Exit 11 of Seomyeon Station. It's open daily from 09:20 to 21:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 16:00 and last order at 20:20.

Come out of Exit 11 at Seomyeon Station and just walk straight toward Choeup and Busan Citizens Park. As you walk, it's easy to spot the building — right across from the old Jin-gu District Office and next to 'TT Hotel.'

What is the dining room like for solo diners?

Walking into Gang Galbitang Seomyeon, the interior was super clean. I happened to visit right after the lunch rush, so there weren't many customers at first — but the moment I sat down, people started streaming in one after another 😮

Most people there were dining alone — a true solo-dining favorite in Seomyeon, Busan, haha.

You order at the kiosk! There was no question about the menu — I went straight for the signature gang galbitang (₩14,000). I figured it'd be amazing dunked in the broth, so I definitely didn't skip adding thin noodles either, haha. Carb lover over here.

Once you sit down and finish ordering, the staff first neatly sets out your initial side dishes! And if you run out while eating, you can freely help yourself at the self-serve bar.

After a short wait, the main dish I'd been waiting for finally showed up! The galbitang (short rib soup) came out bubbling away in a stone bowl, and honestly, the visuals were incredible ㅠㅠ

Honestly, with these special soup dishes I always worry the portion will be small, but here the meat and the stone bowl were packed absolutely full!! This quality and quantity for this price — the value for money is basically flawless.

Hangover broth: how black pepper and chili powder make it spicy

Every table at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon comes neatly set with salt, chili powder, and pepper, so you can adjust the seasoning to your taste. I enjoyed the clear, rich base broth first, then loaded in pepper and chili powder to turn it spicy halfway through — the perfect hangover cure 😋👍

On top of that, the noodles I'd added earlier were piled in generously, so I slurped them up like a bowl of noodle soup,

But the real showstopper was the size of the ribs... a whopping three huge rib bones in there!! I cut them into bite-sized pieces with the tongs and scissors, and the meat just kept coming — I honestly thought it was regenerating infinitely, lol.
