Seomyeon bar for seasonal crab & beef belly seafood hot pot: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a new-ish bar in Seomyeon, Busanjin, Busan, a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 6. The spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot (₩29,900) came piled so high with in-season blue crab, red mussels, beef belly, and soft tofu that the broth was barely visible, and the crab meat was firm and packed like something from a crab specialty restaurant. With group seating and a smoking room, it's a solid pick for a Seomyeon get-together.

Hey everyone! Last Saturday I went with my boyfriend to a brand-new hotspot in Seomyeon, a new bar called 'Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch,' and I wanted to introduce it to you.
Craving something with red broth, we ordered the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot, and it arrived piled with all kinds of seafood, especially a huge amount of in-season blue crab — and the meat yield on this crab was insane. 🦀🦀🦀❤️ It really felt like eating a proper crab stew packed with meat.
Anyway, we ate tons of fresh crab and drank plenty too.

This new Seomyeon bar, Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, is about a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 6, on the 2nd floor above Sseolpa's 2nd branch!

Right at the entrance, you could see photos of Yuumangju's signature dishes. After a quick look around, we headed up the stairs to the 2nd floor.

Inside the store, group seating, and the smoking room
Wow, the interior was really spacious. Being a new bar, it had a clean interior and an overall pleasant vibe. The place itself is big, and there's a separate group seating area inside that can fit a lot of people, so it seemed great for group gatherings. Highly recommend as a Seomyeon bar for group meetups!

Oh, and there was also a separate smoking room for smokers (I peeked through the door and it looked like it opens onto something like an outdoor terrace!).
The menu at Yuumangju, a Seomyeon bar

This Seomyeon bar Yuumangju sells a lot of special dishes you can only get here, in their own style — the O-Dae-Bal (a combo of beef intestine skewers, chicken feet, and cuttlefish), yukhoe shrimp jang-kal bibim, spicy soft tofu mala pork skin, spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot, hot stone kimchi octopus stew, and rich beef tendon octopus hot pot.
We were craving red broth dishes, so we went with the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot!

After ordering, the basic side dish they brought out was garlic baguette bread + honey! It was sweet and crispy — really addictive.

Spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot — the seafood covered the broth
While we were knocking back drinks with the garlic baguette, they quickly brought out the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot!! The seafood, beef belly, and soft tofu were piled so high you could barely even see the broth >.< I've genuinely never seen this level of seafood quality in a hot pot sold at a bar.

The beef belly came already grilled and placed right on top, and the seafood was loaded with in-season blue crab and red mussels. There was also a huge amount of neatly cut soft tofu.
Taking a first sip of the broth, thanks to the seafood it was clean and spicy, but you could also taste the deep richness from the beef belly — I thought even the broth alone would be enough to finish a whole bottle of soju.

Just fishing out the red mussels and beef belly and eating them plain made for the perfect drinking snack~~
How was the meat yield on the seasonal crab?
But honestly, the crab here was seriously amazing... Anyone not know it's crab season right now!? I was genuinely moved — I'd never seen a bar pack in crab this fresh and meaty (basically crab-specialty-restaurant level, no joke).

I cracked all the crab open and picked every last bit of meat out... The meat was plump and moist all the way through, none of it was mushy, which means it definitely wasn't frozen. It had to be 100% fresh crab. I felt like I really got to eat proper in-season crab, and I was so happy about it.

The drinks were going down so smoothly~ haha

Once we'd cleaned up all that crab~~, it transformed into a rich, spicy soft tofu stew! >.< After finishing the crab and mussels, we filled up on the soft, silky tofu while drinking plenty — a great day.
(We kept letting it simmer as we ate, which made the broth even richer and tastier over time. Recommend simmering on low heat while eating!)
