Busanjin bar for kimchi fried rice & strawberry bingsu: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a newly opened hot-stone bar in Seomyeon, Busan. The writer ordered the cheese-loaded chicken (₩29,900) and aged kimchi rice ball (₩6,000), fried the leftovers into kimchi cheese fried rice on the hot stone per staff advice, and got a giant strawberry bingsu (shaved ice) through the receipt-review event. I went to 'Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch,' a bar recommendation in Seomyeon.
If you're looking for a modern new hotspot in Seomyeon, Busan with perfect-looking, perfect-tasting food, pay attention! Today I'm sharing an honest review of a spur-of-the-moment visit to 'Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch,' a newly opened Seomyeon bar-food spot that's blowing up right now.

What's the vibe like? A newly opened, modern Seomyeon bar
✨ A modern, good-vibe new bar in Seomyeon. Since it just opened, the whole space is really clean, and the modern feel is charming. It's pleasant to look at and has a great atmosphere — perfect for having a drink.

The basic side dish and the Naver reservation event
Basic side dish: crispy garlic baguette topped with sweet honey syrup, great for a light nibble before the main dish arrives.
Usage tip (Naver reservation event): if you book through Naver and write a visitor review, they apparently give you a 'fruit ice cream' as a free treat! (We visited on impulse and unfortunately missed it, so make sure to grab this!)

Ordering Yuumangju's All-in Chicken & Aged Kimchi Rice Ball
🧀 Main menu: Yuumangju's All-in Chicken & Aged Kimchi Rice Ball. Out of the many tempting side dish options, this is the combo we settled on for the day!

1. Yuumangju's All-in Chicken (₩29,900)
A chewy meat texture infused with smoky flame flavor: it's made with boneless chicken thigh and chicken neck meat, grilled directly over flame and coated in a special sweet-and-spicy sauce. The moment you bite in, a deep smoky flavor fills your mouth, and the soft juiciness of the thigh meat paired with the springy, chewy texture of the neck meat is just artistry!

An unsparing cheese bomb: it truly lives up to the name — the amount of cheese poured on is massive. Corn kernels are tucked in between the stretchy, savory mozzarella, adding a fun pop of sweetness and savoriness with every bite.

A perfect sweet-salty-spicy balance: the chicken's mildly spicy sauce meets the cheese's savoriness, softening the heat while boosting the umami even more. Served on a hot stone plate with excellent heat retention, the cheese stayed warm and soft down to the very last bite — we kept exclaiming as we ate!
2. Aged Kimchi Rice Ball (₩6,000) & a staff member's honey tip!
Composition: a side dish with a base of seaweed flakes and mayonnaise, topped generously with crunchy, distinctively tangy aged kimchi. It's only ₩6,000, but the portion was way bigger than expected — quite a surprise!

Honey combo tip: even without shaping it into a round ball, just scooping and eating the rice pairs beautifully with the main chicken dish. And when we followed the staff's tip — 'if there's leftovers, fry it up on the hot stone!' — the aged kimchi played the role of a perfect kimchi base and turned into an amazing kimchi cheese fried rice 💥

The receipt-review bingsu — is this seriously a free service?
🍧 Wait, this is really free?! The owner's insanely generous receipt-review bingsu (shaved ice). When I heard we'd get bingsu through the receipt-review event, I asked, 'Is the portion big?' The staff said, 'It won't be small, haha' — and then an actually huge bingsu showed up that was almost startling, lol.
Options available: you can choose from strawberry, blueberry, mango, or Oreo bingsu. We went with strawberry, haha.
Composition: a generous shaved-ice base with sweet sauce, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, and frozen strawberries piled on top like a bomb going off. We were stuffed, but there's always room for dessert, so we happily cleaned the whole thing up!
