Sunday dinner wait at a Marine City Chinese restaurant: Bueokgan

I was looking for a Chinese restaurant with a good atmosphere in Marine City, and that's how I ended up at Bueokgan Chinese.

Not only was the food delicious, but I could see yachts passing by on the water through the window, which made the meal feel extra special.

Usually I only go to Chinese restaurants for the food, but this place stuck with me because I got to enjoy the space and the view together.

How long is the Sunday evening wait at Bueokgan Chinese?

I visited around 7pm on a Sunday and there was a wait. Luckily, I was seated after about 10 minutes.

I was glad I didn't have to wait too long — if you're going on a busy weekend evening, it might be worth giving yourself a little extra time.

From the window seats, you could see the night view along with yachts passing by — the atmosphere was really nice.

Personally, I think the sea view would feel even more refreshing during the day, so I'd like to come back for lunch next time.

Location and parking: 2nd floor of Adelis, 1.5 hours free

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building, where Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap is located.

You can take the dedicated Bueokgan Chinese elevator up, which makes it easy to find. If it's your first visit, it's easier to navigate using Suybeon Choego Pork Gukbap as a landmark.

You can park at the Adelis commercial building parking lot, with 1 hour and 30 minutes free. Parking can often be a hassle in Marine City, so it was nice to be able to have a meal and take a light stroll along Movie Street afterward without worrying about it.

Yacht views and private rooms inside Bueokgan Chinese

The restaurant felt a bit different from the noisy, bustling Chinese restaurant vibe you might expect. It had an upscale, warm feeling overall, and the Marine City ocean view through the windows was especially impressive. Watching the scenery outside while eating made conversation even more enjoyable.

There's a private room as well as a larger room further inside, which seemed great for family dinners, meals with parents, or birthday gatherings when you need a bit more comfortable space.

It's also a nice spot for a date, with a great atmosphere for a meal.

What we ordered: jjajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong and black vinegar tangsuyuk

This time we ordered jjajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong, and a small size of black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork).

The jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) had thick pieces of pork, onion, and cabbage that came together for a deep flavor. Rather than being overly sweet, the umami of the ingredients really came through, so even as a basic menu item it was satisfying. Mixed well with the sauce, the noodles made for a hearty but not-too-heavy meal.

The beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) had the flavor of thinly sliced beef naturally melted into the broth. The spicy yet savory flavors worked well together, and it seemed like a good order for a day when you're craving hot soup. Ordering it alongside the jjajangmyeon and sharing let us enjoy the different charms of each.

The standout dish: black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk

The dish that stuck with me the most was the black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk. The crispy texture of the thick pork loin was great, but what really stood out was the soy-based sauce, instead of the usual ketchup-based one.

Made with Chinese black vinegar, the sauce had a deep, tangy-sweet flavor, and it felt like I'd finally found genuinely delicious tangsuyuk after a while. Even when coated generously in sauce, the batter kept its crisp texture, which was satisfying.

A walk along Movie Street after dinner

After the meal, it's nice to take a walk down Movie Street right out front. You can stroll casually while taking in Marine City's night view and the sea, which makes it a great date course combining a meal and a walk.

It's a good stop for days when you're not quite ready to head straight home after dinner.

Is Bueokgan Chinese in Marine City worth it?

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a place where I could enjoy delicious Chinese food, a yacht view, and a relaxed atmosphere all together.

The jjajangmyeon and beef brisket jjamppong were both delicious, but the tangsuyuk with its deep black vinegar sauce was the dish I most want to have again.

If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant for a date or a family gathering spot in Marine City, this one is worth a visit.
