Kid-friendly Korean BBQ in Myeongji, Busan: Yong Hanu Myeongji

In short

Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch is a corn-grill hanwoo (Korean beef) barbecue restaurant in Myeongji International City, Gangseo, Busan. Visiting with a baby, the writer booked through Naver Reservation to avoid the wait and ordered one set of two-horn sirloin and galbisal (short rib finger meat) plus seafood doenjang (soybean paste) stew. Baby chairs, unlimited rice refills and a lunch special made Yong Hanu Myeongji an easy choice for a family meal with a small child.

Today I'm bringing you my review of Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch. It's a place where you grill meat over corn, and I was curious how that would actually work, so off I went.

Where is Yong Hanu Myeongji, and what are the hours?

There's a 2026 National Trusted Restaurant certification plaque on the wall. Seeing that got my expectations up before I even walked in.

Booking Naver Reservation with a baby: the table set before we sat down

Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch takes reservations through Naver, so we booked ahead! (Waiting in line with a baby is way too hard 🥹🥹)

Table already set up for a reservation visit

When you reserve on Naver and arrive, the basic table setting is already prepared for you.

A plate of lettuce wraps, seasoned scallions, seasoned young cabbage, and mustard leaf kimchi

Lettuce wraps, seasoned scallions, seasoned young cabbage, and mustard leaf kimchi — the side dish lineup was solid?! I always find it awkward when every side comes in its own dish and crowds the table, but here the good stuff came together on one plate, which made eating so much easier!

Sauce station with salt, wasabi, and whole grain mustard sauce

There was also a little sauce station tucked together — salt, wasabi, garlic, whole grain mustard sauce, and some kind of anchovy-chili pickle.

Tablet ordering screen at the table

You just order simply through the tablet. We ordered the one-set, which comes with two-horn sirloin and galbisal (short rib finger meat).

Sign showing today's recommended cuts

Looks like today's recommended menu changes depending on what cuts come in. Today it was Golden Chaeu-sal (premium grade), Snowflake Salchi-sal, and Yong Hanu Chaekkeut-sal! Might be worth ordering the recommended cuts alongside whatever you come for.

How does sirloin grilled on a corn grill taste?

Time for the meat-eating show to begin

Marbled hanwoo beef set out with mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, and shishito peppers

The meat finally arrived! The marbling is a work of art 😍 Mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, and shishito peppers were set out too, perfect for grilling alongside.

They gave it a grind of pepper right there. This place even has a pepper mill, haha 😆 Took a moment just to marvel at the meat.

Sirloin placed on the corn-fired grill

Laid the sirloin on the grill first. As the corn heats up, the smoke seems to actually perfume the meat with flavor. Even the sizzling sound felt different from usual.

Grilled sirloin seasoned with a pepper mill

Since they'd already ground pepper over it beforehand, it had a light seasoning baked in. It was delicious even without adding anything else.

A piece of hanwoo beef dipped in salt

Second round — let's try dipping it in salt.

More hanwoo beef being grilled and eaten

Eating and eating... and still eating more? Whoever said you get sick of beef after just a little 🥹 clearly hasn't eaten here — it just kept going down easy.

Hanwoo beef paired with chili-anchovy pickle

Paired with the chili-anchovy pickle, it was an unusual but delicious combo.

Finishing with seafood doenjang stew and unlimited rice

Seafood doenjang stew and rice ordered to finish the meal

We wanted to finish up filling and satisfied, so we ordered seafood doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) with rice

Seafood doenjang stew with crab and clams

With crab and clams inside, it's a refreshing seafood doenjang stew. Perfect for cutting through the richness after all that beef!

Kimchi and diced radish kimchi served with the doenjang stew

The kimchi and diced radish kimchi that came with the stew tasted like it was just pulled fresh from grandma's earthenware jars — grandma's hand-made flavor. If you like well-fermented kimchi, mixing it into rice with the stew and topping it with this kimchi is a winning combo.

Chuseok gift sets, the whiskey display and baby chairs

Chuseok is coming up, and they're already selling gift sets

With Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) approaching, they're selling gift sets too. Looked like a solid option for a holiday gift.

Whiskey and sake display case in a corner of the restaurant

There's also a whiskey and sake display case tucked in a corner of the restaurant, with bottles like Macallan and Balvenie (I don't know much about alcohol, fair warning 🥲) among what they sell.

Draft beer served at the restaurant

Of course, they also serve Hanmac draft beer, so this would be a great spot to come on a day you want meat with a drink.

Convenience corner with dental floss, mouthwash, and hair ties

They even thoughtfully stock convenience items like dental floss, mouthwash, and hair ties. They're thinking about your dental health too..!

Baby chair available for visits with children

There's a baby chair too, so visiting with a child is doable.

Sign for the lunch special and unlimited rice refills

There's a lunch special too, so it seems good for office workers' lunch. And best of all, unlimited. rice. refills! They even said they give out free shrimp meat when tables are full.. Let's go in a group and feast on shrimp meat!! It was a great meal.
