I found this BBQ place, Gyumuk 🥩✨, while hunting for good food in Gangseo-gu, Busan during a recent vacation. I'd been craving meat lately, and it just so happened there was a solid BBQ restaurant in Sinho-dong, so I went to check it out :)

We really went all out that day, from samgyeopsal to mokjal, so let me focus this review on what we actually ate 😋💕

The vibe at this Sinho-dong BBQ restaurant

Walking in, there were quite a few customers already eating, which confirmed it — this really is a popular BBQ spot in Sinho-dong! That signature grilled-meat smell was wafting all the way outside... honestly, walking in doubled my hunger instantly haha

Side dishes served at Gyumuk

The side dishes were great too~ We ordered two servings of samgyeopsal 120g and one serving of mokjal 120g that day!

Samgyeopsal 120g x 2, how was the juiciness?

First, we started grilling the samgyeopsal 🥓🔥. The visual on this pork belly was seriously so good.

Raw samgyeopsal (pork belly) 120g on the grill

You know how meat sizzling on the grill just sounds delicious? Haha. I grilled the samgyeopsal first and took a bite — the juices were still alive, so good 👍🏻👍🏻

Samgyeopsal sizzling on the grill

That savory samgyeopsal flavor came through perfectly — this confirmed it, samgyeopsal really is the king of meats 💗

Mokjal 120g joined the table too

They also grilled up the mokjal 120g we ordered alongside it~~ Mokjal has a leaner, more subtle flavor than samgyeopsal, so switching back and forth kept things from getting repetitive!! Personally my favorite 🤍 — alternating between the richness of samgyeopsal and the leanness of mokjal was pure happiness haha 🥰

I love wrapping meat in lettuce, so I tried it a bunch of ways. Turns out meat is delicious plain and delicious wrapped too... conclusion: it's delicious no matter how you eat it 🤣❤️

Tofu doenjang jjigae with a whole block of tofu

There's one menu item I quietly consider important at any BBQ restaurant: doenjang jjigae! 🍲 After eating nothing but meat, you start craving hot broth. So we also ordered the tofu doenjang jjigae that day. Just the name — 'whole block of tofu' — already sounded hearty, and sure enough, the stew was packed with tofu, perfect to eat alongside the meat haha

A spoonful of hot doenjang jjigae followed by a bite of samgyeopsal... I mean, that combo is unbeatable haha 🤭 Especially with a sip of the stew's broth in between bites of meat — it cleanses your palate, and somehow that magic just makes you keep eating more meat...✨

A solid order for two people

In the end we thoroughly finished off two servings of samgyeopsal, one serving of mokjal, and the doenjang jjigae haha. It felt like the perfect, well-rounded order for two people! If you're in Gangseo-gu, Busan and can't decide where to go for samgyeopsal or mokjal, give this Sinho-dong favorite, Gyumuk, a try! Another delicious meal, success! ✨
