A house-made udon spot near Daeyeon Station
I visited Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch (미식가의 우동 대연직영점), a great place to go when udon is calling near Daeyeon Station. They say they make their own udon noodles based on years of training in Japan. Since they use noodles made in-house, it is a Daeyeon-dong favorite worth trying if you love udon.

Parking and dining at the restaurant
Park in the Busan Korea Hospital parking lot and take a parking ticket, then have the restaurant stamp it after your meal. You get one free hour with a bill of ₩20,000 or more.
The restaurant was spacious and clean overall! There were lots of solo diners too, so it felt easy to visit alone when looking for lunch near Daeyeon Station. 👍🏻
High chairs for babies are available too. 💛

From udon to izakaya dishes
Udon is the main event, but there are plenty of meal options including tonkatsu and soba; in the evening, it also operates as an izakaya. In particular, soju and beer are sold for ₩1,990, making this a great spot not only for a meal but also for a casual drink. Haha.
Salt, tonkatsu sauce, and shichimi (Japanese seven-spice blend), which goes wonderfully with Japanese udon, are set out too. Such thoughtful service, even with vitamin candies for dessert!!!
What we ordered and prices

- Bukkake udon: ₩8,000
- Shrimp tempura, 1 piece: ₩3,000

Udon combo set
The combo set includes udon, tonkatsu, and curry egg rice.

It is such a filling set with udon + tonkatsu + curry egg rice!

For a set, the udon portion was generous, so it was really filling. The noodles were soft yet still had a lovely bite, and the broth was rich without being salty, which I loved. It is basic udon, but you can taste the skill in both the noodles and broth. 👍🏻

Tonkatsu that stayed crisp to the very end
Honestly, since this is an udon specialty restaurant, I was not expecting much from the tonkatsu. But the breading was truly crisp, and the meat was thick with no unpleasant smell, so the texture was great too.
Best of all, the underside never went soggy until I had finished it... 🤍 I do not want to eat it once it gets damp, but this stayed crisp the whole time, so I was very satisfied!!! It went wonderfully with the sauce and wasabi served alongside.

Curry egg rice with kimchi
The curry rice has that familiar, comforting flavor like something made at home. But this is exactly the kind of curry that tastes so good, right? It was especially delicious with kimchi. Even if you do not order the combo set, add the curry rice and try it. Highly recommended 🤤
How were the bukkake udon noodles?

I love cold udon, so I often order it when it is on the menu, and true to the house-made noodles, the springy texture was so good. Rather than pouring in all the accompanying sauce at once, I recommend adding it little by little to taste! I used about two-thirds, and it was just right without being salty. Haha.
It felt like the textbook version of delicious Daeyeon-dong udon, where you can properly enjoy clean, chewy noodles. 👍🏻 I think even people trying bukkake udon for the first time would enjoy it very much!
Adding shrimp tempura and a fried egg
The shrimp tempura was generously sized and fried crisp. You could really taste the moist shrimp inside, and having it with the bukkake udon made for an even more filling meal.
You can add a fried egg for ₩500, so it is a great, easy way to get some protein! 🍳

Thoughtful service, right down to after-meal coffee
They are also running a review event, so check it before ordering if you are planning to visit!
- There is a restroom inside the restaurant, which is convenient.
- I also saw that the restaurant does lots of good work, including social-contribution activities.

There is a coffee corner by the exit, where you can enjoy an iced Americano or instant mix coffee as dessert after your meal.

Being able to take care of both a meal and dessert coffee in one go was the best!! This kind of service made me even more satisfied. 🤍
A Daeyeon-dong favorite where I could heartily enjoy chewy house-made udon, tonkatsu, and curry! I recommend Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch for lunch or for a casual evening drink.
