Gangnam shopping date café stop: fig cream cheese financier, Something

After a shopping date with a friend near Gangnam Station, I wanted somewhere to chat and enjoy good coffee and dessert together — so we headed to Something About Coffee, a Gangnam café with great vibes ☕️🤎

Where is Something About Coffee, and what are the hours?

It's located between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's great when you're looking for a café around either one. It's a big three-floor café, so it was nice for a relaxed cup of coffee without feeling crowded.

With space spread across three floors, I'd recommend this place for a café date with friends or whenever you're looking for somewhere to talk comfortably in Gangnam ☕️🤎

There are terrace seats too

Besides the indoor space, there's also terrace seating, so on a nice day it would be lovely to enjoy coffee outside at a relaxed pace.

What desserts can you choose from?

Something About Coffee has a wide range of desserts, from cakes to finassiers, fruit sandos, and all kinds of baked goods. If you're a dessert lover like me or looking for a dessert café in Gangnam, I highly recommend it!!!♥️

• Walnut persimmon cheesecake
• Fig cream cheese finassier

The desserts and coffee looked so good even just visually 🤎 I was torn between the fig black sesame cake and the walnut persimmon cheesecake, but ordered the cheesecake since it's a new menu item — and I really made the right choice 👍🏻

Matcha cold brew (₩7,500)

The matcha cold brew was so good — the slightly bitter, rich matcha flavor blended perfectly with the deep coffee taste of the cold brew. I already like matcha in general, but I loved that this one wasn't just sweet — you could really taste matcha's strong aroma and flavor. Since it wasn't sweet, it paired really well with the sweeter desserts too :)

Walnut persimmon cheesecake (₩10,900)

Persimmon in a cheesecake? I wondered if that would even work, but wow, I was surprised after the first bite. The mild sweetness of the persimmon, the nutty walnuts, and the dense cheesecake all came together beautifully — it had a different charm than a typical cheesecake, almost like a carrot cake vibe? I really enjoyed it and will definitely order it again next time 👍🏻 No regrets on this choice.

Fig cream cheese financier (₩4,200)

Fig cream cheese finassier is one of my favorite baked goods 🤍 It has the chewy, moist texture typical of finassiers, plus the fig and cream cheese combination adds a sweet and soft flavor. The mild sweetness of the fig went really well with the creaminess of the cream cheese, and it was great paired with an iced americano too.

Something About Coffee is a place better suited for enjoying a variety of desserts than just grabbing a coffee. Next time I want to try the other cakes and baked goods too :)
