Paju café with an Anpanman cookie and garlic bread to go: On the Rail
In short
On the Rail is an outdoor bakery café on Imjingak-ro in Munsan-eup, Paju, Gyeonggi, open daily until 2am. Arriving around 7pm with the dog Gamja and mom, the group took an outdoor table for an iced café latte (6,500 won), hot chamomile tea and a Hoppangman (Anpanman) cookie, and carried the garlic bread home. The train was missed, but the railway photo zone and garden alone make On the Rail worth a late-night drive.

A Paju café where you can watch real trains go by?
On the Rail in Munsan-eup, Paju is a late-night café open from Monday to Sunday until 2am. A lot of cafés around here close early once evening hits, but On the Rail stays relaxed and open well into the night. I went looking for a late-night café in Paju and figured I'd combine it with a drive.
We got there around 7pm, and the inside was fairly quiet, with a decent amount of bakery items still left, so it was easy to enjoy drinks and bread together.

Most importantly, since we went with our dog, we spent our time in the outdoor space. I loved that it's an outdoor café in Paju that's great to visit with a dog on a nice day.
On the Rail: location, hours and parking in Munsan, Paju
- 📍 Location: 25 Imjingang-ro, Munsan-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do
- ⏰ Hours: Every day, 11am – 2am
- 🚗 Parking: Free, spacious lot
The parking lot is huge, so it was easy to visit by car. It's also a good spot to stop for coffee while driving around Munsan or Imjingak.

As soon as we arrived, I understood why it's called On the Rail — an actual train track runs right behind the café. It looked unusual in photos, but seeing it in person was even more surprising! Instead of just a building and a parking lot like a typical large café, there's a garden and trees around the building leading to the tracks, so it's nice to stroll around and explore. There's even a photo zone built around the tracks in the outdoor area, so it's fun to wander around rather than just grabbing a drink and leaving.
Where dogs can sit at On the Rail
Since we came with Gamja, we spent our time in the outdoor space. On the Rail is one of the few pet-friendly cafés in Paju! That said, which areas allow dogs and the exact rules can change over time, so it's best to check with staff when you visit.
It's been hard to find cafés that welcome dogs even outdoors, let alone indoors, so I was glad to finally find a good one. Being able to spend time outside together on a nice day was especially great for us. I'd recommend visiting on a cool spring or fall day rather than in the hot summer or cold winter, so you can enjoy coffee outside along with the garden and the tracks.

What the indoor seating at On the Rail feels like
Walking into On the Rail, the late-night café in Paju, the inside was even bigger than it looked from outside!! The ceilings are high and there's plenty of space between tables, so it didn't feel crowded even with people around. Big plants scattered throughout gave the whole place a nature-friendly feel.
Near the windows you can see the outdoor scenery, and green plants are placed here and there, making it a comfortable spot to sit for a long time. The wide table spacing also made it easy to chat over coffee.

Is bread still left at On the Rail at 7pm?
On the Rail isn't just a drinks café — it's a bakery café, so there was a good variety of bread too. There were simple items like salt bread and croissants, along with heartier ones like sausage bread and garlic bread. There were also plenty of sweet desserts like butter bars, tarts, and cakes. Some desserts had fruit on top, so there was something for every taste.

We visited around 7pm and I was glad there were still several kinds of bread left. When you visit a café late in the evening, bakery items are often sold out, but here there was still enough to pair with a drink.
Of course, what's left at this dog-friendly café in Paju can vary depending on when you visit and how much sold that day. If there's a specific bread you really want to try, I'd recommend going a bit earlier!

Visiting On the Rail with a baby
On the Rail is set up well not just for dogs but for families with babies or young kids. There are plenty of baby chairs inside, so it's comfortable to enjoy drinks and bakery items indoors with a child!
It's also a relatively easy space to navigate for families bringing strollers.

There's also a spot on one side of the café where you can warm up your bread. An oven and microwave are set up, so if you want your bread warm, you can heat it yourself.

There's also a separate area for packing bread to go, so it looked easy to buy bread and take it home instead of eating there.
With such a wide variety of bakery items, this magical Paju café has you coming in for just coffee and leaving with a bread or two 𓆞𓂃𓇼

On the Rail's best feature: the railway photo zone
My favorite part of On the Rail was the outdoor space. Since we came with our pup, we sat outside. On a cool day, sitting outside with a cup of coffee and taking your time is just perfect, right~
Above all, having an actual train track right next to the café made it special. At this dog-friendly café in Paju, the garden connects right into the railway, a view you won't find at most cafés. Walking along the outdoor space, you come across the railway photo zone, with tracks and benches together, which made for great photos. We snapped a few cute ones haha. During the day the greenery probably looks pretty, and in the evening the lighting adds a whole different mood. So I'd strongly recommend this to anyone looking for an outdoor café in Paju~~!
Gyeongui–Jungang Line schedule: when trains pass On the Rail
Another fun thing about On the Rail is that a real train actually passes by. There's a track right in front of the café, and the outdoor area has a train schedule posted. If you time it right, you can watch a train pass right by while you're at the café. If you visit with kids, watching the train go by could be a fun bonus.
We checked the schedule too, but unfortunately the next train wasn't until the following day ㅠㅠ By the time we arrived, the last one for the day had already passed..!

In the end, we ate our bread and drinks, spent time outside, and left without seeing the train haha. So if you really want to see a train pass by, I'd recommend checking the train schedule before you go rather than showing up and waiting around. Recent visitor reviews also mention the posted train schedule, so if seeing a train is your goal, it's worth checking the timing before you head over.
Iced café latte and hot chamomile at On the Rail
I ordered an iced café latte. After driving late at night, I wanted something cold to drink.
It was smooth and nutty, pairing well with the bakery items. A solid, easy-drinking latte to sip while chatting leisurely at the café. The café latte at this dog-friendly café in Paju, On the Rail, is ₩6,500. Beyond coffee, there's also a wide range of teas, ades, lattes, and smoothies, so it's easy for anyone who doesn't drink coffee to find something they like too.

Since mom was visiting at night, she wanted something lighter on caffeine and picked the warm chamomile. Subtly fragrant and clean to drink, great choice! When you visit in the evening or late at night, sometimes you crave a warm tea instead of coffee, and having something as easy-drinking as chamomile on the menu was a nice touch.
Sipping my iced latte while mom had her warm chamomile, sitting outside chatting about this and that, time flew by.

Garlic bread to go and the Anpanman cookie
I packed some garlic bread to take home for my husband, who couldn't come because he was working, and he loved it haha. Confirmed Paju bakery gem.

I also ordered a Pobbanguman (Anpanman) cookie at this dog-friendly café in Paju — isn't it so cute lolol. It tasted like a rich, crisp butter cookie! It was so cute I almost felt bad eating it ㅠㅠ

Is On the Rail worth a late-night drive in Paju?
We visited late at night on a drive, and it was great to be able to relax with a cup of coffee in such a quiet, easygoing atmosphere.
Above all, being a late-night café in Paju open until 2am is the biggest plus! If you've had dinner in Paju or Munsan and are looking for a café to head to late in the evening, or you're driving around Imjingak and want somewhere for coffee, this is worth stopping by. Recent reviews also highlight the late hours, the outdoor space, and the railway photo zone as On the Rail's main features.
What makes this dog-friendly café in Paju different from a typical café is that you get the actual railway, the outdoor garden, and the railway photo zone all together. If you come with kids, watching the train is fun; if you come with a dog, spending time outside on a nice day is great,
and like us, it's also a nice spot to stop for coffee on a late-night drive. We unfortunately missed the train timing and didn't get to see one pass by, but next time I'd love to check the schedule ahead and catch it haha.

If you're looking for a late-night café in Paju, a Munsan café worth eating at, or a recommendation for an outdoor café in Paju, I'd recommend On the Rail, where you can enjoy coffee and bakery items right next to a railway track!! On a nice day especially, don't just drink your coffee indoors and leave — take your time exploring the outdoor garden and the railway photo zone too~ Spending time outside there is what made this dog-friendly café in Paju so memorable for us. I'd 10000% go back!
