Goyang garden café for mentaiko salt bread: Baedagol Bakery House

I visited Baedagol Bakery House (배다골베이커리하우스), a Goyang bakery café that is perfect for recharging amid all that lush greenery! It is a Wondang café I wholeheartedly recommend for a drive from Ilsan or the Seoul area.

That clean, modern beige building is Baedagol Bakery House. There are around 10 parking spaces in front of the café, plus a large dedicated lot behind it, so I could visit without any parking worries!

Lush trees and potted plants lined the stone path. There were so many outdoor tables with parasols, too! The weather was lovely, so lots of people were eating outside. It felt like I had come to visit a woodland garden from a fairy tale.. 🧚♀️

The garden is sooooo spacious! If you keep walking, an even bigger area opens up at the back. Dogs are welcome outdoors when leashed, so if you are looking for a Goyang café to visit with your pup, it would be wonderful to come while the weather is this nice!

Drinks and seasonal melon offerings

I headed inside to order first! There was a wide selection, from coffee and ade to house-made tea, and you could even pay extra to switch between several coffee beans. They are also running an event where you get one free bread item for writing a Naver photo review, so I recommend writing one and claiming your bread!!

It happened to be melon season when I visited, so there were melon drinks and bingsu (Korean shaved ice), too!! The display case was filled with fresh whole melons. With such generous amounts of fresh fruit going in, of course it has to be delicious.

A showcase filled with baked goods

True to its name, Bakery House had an incredible variety of breads! They were displayed inside showcases that open at the press of a button, which was satisfying from a hygiene standpoint right away. From golden salt bread and Mont Blanc to mocha buns, sausage bread that makes an easy meal, and fruit cakes—the kind of lineup that makes a bread lover lose her mind.. haha

Rooftop garden views and family-friendly amenities

The indoor seating was also very spacious and comfortable on every floor. There was even a room-like space on the second floor! There were tables for groups, and when I stepped out onto the second-floor rooftop terrace, the broad green garden spread out below in one view—definitely a Goyang café with a view!

The self-service bar on one side had an oven for warming bread, as well as disposable gloves and bags for packing up bread yourself. High chairs were thoughtfully provided on every floor, too, making this a Wondang café that seems really great for visiting with children!

Mentaiko salt bread and dessert order

I took a seat by the window overlooking the green garden. I ordered Häagen-Dazs ice cream, a hot Americano, Mont Blanc, mentaiko salt bread, and chestnut loaf bread!

They gave me a cupful of several scoops of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and the chewy vanilla ice cream was delicious. And the mentaiko salt bread..! It was so good. It did not have just a tiny bit of mentaiko; it was generously coated right from the mentaiko crumb topping, with just the right savory saltiness.

They served the Americano shot separately like that, and it was so nice to mix in only a little for a lighter coffee, then pour the rest over the ice cream for an affogato, hehe. The flaky Mont Blanc was moist and went so well with coffee, and the chestnut loaf bread was truly packed with chestnuts!! It was seriously delicious. Eating sweet desserts while looking out at the verdant garden through the floor-to-ceiling windows naturally made me feel refreshed..

There was also a sand playground and toys for children in one corner of the outdoor garden! If you are looking for a great café to visit with kids in Wondang, Goyang, I think Baedagol Bakery House would be the very best choice.

The cherry blossoms must be beautiful in spring, and the autumn foliage must be gorgeous, too... I came away refreshed at Baedagol Bakery House, a Wondang café where you can feel nature's charms in every season.

A café I would revisit 100%! The weather is so lovely these days that I am planning to go back soon and have coffee in the outdoor garden.
