Mangpo Station café with a 9,900 won morning toast set: Hongrad Suwon

I visited Hongrad Coffee Mangpo Station Branch, a well-known café in Yeongtong, Suwon. Hongrad Coffee already has 5 branches around Suwon. I love that Suwon keeps getting these café brands that are mostly known only to locals.

This Yeongtong café favorite, Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch, is open every day from 10am to 11pm. There aren't many cafés around here open this late, so Hongrad is great for coming after dinner with friends.

It's on the 4th floor of the building, so look carefully to find it! They recently started a new time sale event — from 10am to 11:30am, the Kaya Toast + Americano set is only ₩9,900.

Inside Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch: sofa seats and table space

The biggest reason I love this Yeongtong café favorite is the comfortable seating. Every table is wide and there are lots of comfy sofa seats, so it's a café where you can settle in and relax anytime.

I've also been to Hongrad's Haenggung-dong branch and this Yeongtong branch, and both have this same comfortable seating setup.

These comfy seats are especially good for sitting alone, so there were a lot of customers reading books or studying. I came with just a tablet and was so happy sitting alone in a comfy sofa seat, relaxing.

Fitting the hip café vibe, there are also cute little props to look at.

What is Ex-Boyfriend Toast? Tasting it with a decaf iced americano

Hongrad's seating is great, but this is a dessert spot, so you have to try the desserts! The toast menu especially is something you don't see at many other cafés. I ordered the Ex-Boyfriend Toast and a decaf americano.

Ex-Boyfriend Toast is a toast combo of cream cheese + blueberry jam + ice cream! I usually love the Hongrad Toast here, where injeolmi (rice cake powder) and red bean go so well together, but today I was curious about the Ex-Boyfriend Toast so I ordered it. It's a dessert that became famous for its cream cheese + blueberry jam combination.

Between the slices of bread there's a generous, nutty layer of cream cheese, topped with tangy blueberry jam and sweet vanilla ice cream on top — no wonder it's such a proper sugar-charge dessert~~

The decaf iced americano was really good. Decaf beans tend to be more hit-or-miss than regular beans, but Hongrad's decaf was so tasty and nutty that if you didn't know, you'd just think it was a regular nutty iced americano.

Cutting the toast neatly and eating it bite by bite, all my fatigue for the day melted away with this sweet dessert lol. Everything at Hongrad is so delicious and pretty, I love it!

Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch is great for enjoying a sweet dessert and coffee in a comfy sofa seat. It's good for a date, and thanks to the sofas it's also good to bring along a baby — highly recommend.
