Solo brunch café near Anyang Station: red velvet cookie, Saechamcoffee

I was looking for a café near Anyang Station where I could get a real meal, not just coffee, and ended up at Saechamcoffee.

Sandwiches, coffee, cookies, and drip bags all in one space made it a good pick for a solo brunch stop. This time I'm writing about my spicy chicken sandwich and iced americano at Saechamcoffee, a café on Anyang's Daengridan-gil.

Finding Saechamcoffee near Anyang Station

Saechamcoffee has a bright exterior with red accents, so it wasn't hard to spot from a distance. Out front there's a signboard listing the seasonal and brunch menus.

The caprese basil sandwich, truffle jambon-beurre sandwich, and spicy chicken sandwich were listed as the signature brunch items. There's a proper meal menu, so it seemed like a good stop for lunch or a late breakfast.

Sandwiches were ₩12,000 for caprese basil, ₩11,500 for spicy chicken, and ₩11,000 for truffle jambon-beurre, with set options too — the spicy chicken sandwich set was ₩14,500. The coffee menu covered espresso, americano, café latte, and cappuccino, plus honey salt latte and honey butter latte.

There were juices and teas for people who don't drink coffee. Seasonal cup bingsu (shaved ice dessert) came in mango, strawberry, and red bean, each ₩6,500.

Inside Saechamcoffee: roomier than expected, and where to sit

The inside was noticeably bigger than it looked from outside. A long bar seat ran along the big floor-to-ceiling window, which felt easy to sit at solo, and there were also table seats further inside for groups. The overall mood was calm, with white walls and dark wood furniture.

Seating was split into separate zones rather than packed together, with an even further-back area, so it was easy to pick a spot depending on the mood you wanted. The window side was bright with natural light during the day, while the inner part felt a bit quieter — good for lingering over coffee.

One side of the café had a bean information board and a separate drip bag display. Sumatra Mandheling, Ethiopia Koke G1, Kenya, Brazil, Guatemala, and a house blend were all laid out with their characteristics explained.

The drip bags were also sorted by bean type, so this corner was worth browsing slowly if you enjoy comparing aroma and acidity.

There was also a cold brew extraction setup on display, which gave me the impression they put real care into the coffee menu.

The dessert case had quite a lot of levain cookie varieties — Nutella, matcha, triple chocolate, yellow cheese s'more, oreo, and red velvet s'more — plus Nagasaki castella displayed alongside.

It seemed like a good setup whether you wanted a light dessert after the sandwich or just came for coffee and a cookie.

How does the spicy chicken sandwich taste?

What I ordered was the spicy chicken sandwich with an iced americano.

The sandwich came cut in half with pickles on the side. The first thing that caught my eye was the black bread — even in photos the color really stands out, quite different from a typical sandwich. Inside was chicken thigh meat, romaine, tomato, and red onion, all pulled together with mayonnaise.

Eating it, the chicken wasn't dry, and the red onion and vegetables kept the texture from feeling flat. True to the name, there was a mild spicy kick, but it didn't build up into something too hot, so it went well with the iced americano. The bread itself had some thickness and the filling was generous, so it wasn't a light meal by any means.

Since it came already cut in half, it was easy to eat by hand.

After joining the event, I received a red velvet s'more levain cookie, already packaged, which made it easy to carry.

Between the sandwich, the coffee, and the cookie, I got a taste of the range of desserts Saechamcoffee has prepared.

Is Saechamcoffee worth a solo brunch in Anyang?

Saechamcoffee is a place where you can have a sandwich and coffee together, plus browse cookies, beans, and drip bags. With seating ranging from the window bar to inner tables, it looked comfortable whether you're visiting solo or with company.

And it's a dog-friendly café!! They even have separate cushions for pets ◡̈ If you're near Anyang Station and want to handle a simple meal and coffee in one stop like I did, this is worth keeping in mind when looking for cafés on Anyang's Daengridan-gil.
