Seoul Korean BBQ after Lotte World Mall shopping: Jinseong Hanwoo
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean beef offal restaurant in the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul, serving gopchang (small intestine), daechang (large intestine) and makchang (last part of the intestine). After a shopping date at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, two of us ordered two portions of beef gopchang, one portion of beef daechang and kkakdugi yangbap (radish kimchi fried rice), all grilled on a hot plate to a timer by the staff. The gopchang was packed with rich fat and the fried rice finish left us full, making Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang an easy choice when you want beef offal in Bangi-dong.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I went on a shopping date at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil! While figuring out dinner, I got a craving for beef gopchang after a long time, so we headed to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch~

I'd walked past this place a lot and it always had a crowd, so I kept thinking 'this must be a real Bangi-dong hotspot, I should try it sometime' — and I finally did haha. Here's my review of a hearty dinner from gopchang and daechang all the way to the final kkakdugi yangbap~!

It's in the Bangi-dong food alley, so it's not hard to find!! There can be a wait on weekend evenings, so I'd recommend booking ahead on Naver. Even when I visited, quite a few people were sitting outside waiting!!
What is the dining room like inside?
Inside, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch has a friendly gopchang-restaurant vibe with round tables! It's clean and casual, a comfortable spot for dinner with a drink or two.

The weather was cool and pleasant so they had the windows open, which gave it an outdoor-tent kind of feel — I loved it!!!
Menu and prices at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang
At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, the mains are beef gopchang at ₩19,000 per portion, beef daechang at ₩19,000 per portion, and beef makchang at ₩20,000 per portion, with kkakdugi yangbap at ₩9,000 and anchovy noodles at ₩6,000 as sides. The menu isn't sprawling or complicated — it felt like a real, focused gopchang restaurant built around gopchang, daechang, and makchang!!

- Beef gopchang, 1 portion: ₩19,000
- Beef daechang, 1 portion: ₩19,000
- Beef makchang, 1 portion: ₩20,000
- Kkakdugi yangbap: ₩9,000
- Anchovy noodles: ₩6,000
The two of us ordered two portions of beef gopchang + one portion of beef daechang + kkakdugi yangbap! If you're at a gopchang place, fried rice is non-negotiable, so we made sure to order the yangbap too!!
Table setting: minari, pickled garlic sauce and the three kimchi
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch serves a minari (water dropwort) pickle-garlic dipping sauce and three kinds of house-made kimchi as standard. First, the table setting!! I really love this kind of round-table gopchang restaurant haha.

They set out the minari pickle-garlic dipping sauce! The minari was really fragrant and the minced garlic gave it a deep flavor. I also love really spicy peppers, and eating them alongside the gopchang was so good.

Then the house-made kimchi trio made its appearance~ All the ingredients are domestic!!! So many places use Chinese ingredients these days, so this kind of place is precious!! There's a reason they sell the scallion kimchi by the pack. So good!!!!!!
Before the gopchang came out, they gave us this kind of paper. I wondered what kind of famous place needs something like this?! But I get it now…
Beef gopchang and daechang grilled to a timer at the table
At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, the staff set a timer for the beef gopchang and daechang and flip them right on cue. Toppings like chives, bean sprouts, kimchi, potato, and rice cake come piled onto the hot plate, making it super generous.

What was unique was waiting for the timer to go off before flipping the gopchang like this!! I think grilling it on such precise timing is exactly why it comes out so evenly cooked and delicious haha.

And the complimentary steamed egg!! This was also savory, salty, and really tasty~
When the timer went off, they flipped the gopchang like this and grilled it three minutes more. The daechang got snip-snipped with scissors too~~

How did the gopchang and daechang taste?
Gorgeously grilled gopchang and daechang complete 🤤 The gopchang at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang comes out golden-browned on the outside and packed with fat inside! It's chewy and you really taste that distinctive rich, savory flavor of the fat.

The gopchang itself was savory enough to eat plain, but paired with the minari-garlic sauce, chives, and kimchi, I kept reaching for more~ Personally, when I eat gopchang I love having scallion kimchi alongside since it cuts through the richness, and here they gave us plenty of it, which I really appreciated!!

Daechang has a different charm from gopchang!! It has that distinctively plump, tender texture with a rich, savory taste, so alternating between the two kept things from getting boring haha.

But best of all was this grilled rice cake!!! Rice cake grilled in gopchang fat — need I say more~

And of course, you can't eat gopchang without a drink haha. Cheers with beer~~!
Finishing with kkakdugi yangbap (radish kimchi fried rice)
To finish, kkakdugi yangbap!! Fried rice is basically a Korean dessert, right~

Maybe because of the kkakdugi, it cut through the greasiness you can feel after eating gopchang, and the tangy flavor paired well with the fried rice's signature savoriness. The kkakdugi and rice bits gave it a nice crunchy-chewy texture too! Even though I was already pretty full from the gopchang, I scraped the plate clean haha.
Final verdict on Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang in Bangi-dong
- ✔️ A gopchang specialist focused on beef gopchang, daechang, and makchang
- ✔️ Beef gopchang generously packed with fat
- ✔️ House-made kimchi using domestic ingredients
- ✔️ Finish with the kkakdugi yangbap — highly recommended
- ✔️ A good spot in the Bangi-dong food alley for dinner or drinks
We ordered two portions of beef gopchang + one portion of beef daechang + kkakdugi yangbap, and the two of us left completely full and satisfied. Finishing with the kkakdugi yangbap felt like the perfect ending to a gopchang day~~ I'd recommend this place whenever you're craving beef gopchang in Bangi-dong!!
