In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is a hanwoo beef gopchang (grilled intestine) restaurant in Bangi Food Alley, Songpa, Seoul, about 603m from Jamsil Station Exit 10. Arriving before sunset for a window seat, the writer ordered one portion of hanwoo gopchang and one of hanwoo daechang (large intestine), poured somaek with Terra and Saero, ate it with minari (water celery) pickle, and finished with kkakdugi yangbap (fried rice with radish kimchi). Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is an easy pick for dinner and a few drinks with friends.

I'm pretty into gopchang (grilled beef intestine), so whenever I'm making plans with friends I naturally start scouting gopchang restaurants. This time I went to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch in Bangi Food Alley near Jamsil Station~ We ordered one portion each of beef gopchang and daechang, and finished off with kkakdugi yangbap haha😆 Went for gopchang, so somaek was a must too, right? 🍻 For anyone looking for good eats in Bangi-dong, let me walk you through the vibe, menu, prices, and what we actually ate!

How to find Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang — 603m from Jamsil Station Exit 10

The storefront has the name Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang written large, so it wasn't hard to find😄

Inside Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang: window seats with an outdoor-tent feel
Inside, there are round tables each with a grill built into the middle for cooking the gopchang~ Warm-toned lighting hangs from the ceiling, giving the whole place a cozy feel! The table layout is like a typical Korean BBQ spot, so it's great for sitting around with friends🤭

We sat at a spot with a view outside! The window side is open, so we could feel the lively atmosphere of Bangi Food Alley while eating gopchang~ On days that aren't too hot or too cold, a seat like this is especially nice🥰 A cool breeze while sipping somaek was a pretty good vibe🍺

Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang menu — hanwoo gopchang, daechang and makchang
The menu at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, a Bangi-dong favorite, is made up of hanwoo gopchang, hanwoo daechang, and hanwoo makchang!

It was too hard to choose between gopchang and daechang, so we ordered one portion each~ And at the end, we added a portion of kkakdugi yangbap, which you eat kind of like fried rice😉

Somaek with gopchang: mixing Terra and Saero
While waiting for the gopchang, we mixed up some soju and beer haha. We drank Terra and Saero that day! Personally, I think a cold somaek pairs really well with something as rich as gopchang🤣🤣

Sitting by the window and looking at the view outside while drinking made it feel even better than usual! We had a light drink and chatted with friends even before the gopchang came out~

Minari pickle, the side that goes best with beef gopchang
A minari (water celery) pickle came out as a side dish! At first, what caught my eye was the sauce loaded with minari~ It looked like a soy sauce base with minari and seasoning mixed in, perfect for dipping the gopchang or daechang😆

According to the sign on the table, they recommend dipping not just gopchang and various vegetables but even kimchi into the minari pickle sauce! Gopchang is delicious, but it can start to feel a bit greasy after a while~ Adding minari alongside helped freshen up the palate a bit, which I liked😊

What one portion each of hanwoo gopchang and daechang looks like
Finally, our beef gopchang and daechang arrived! On the round grill, the gopchang and daechang were laid out with garlic chives, cabbage, potatoes, and other vegetables in the middle~ Having vegetables alongside made the whole plate feel more generous than just gopchang and daechang alone🤭

There were plenty of garlic chives piled on, which went great with the gopchang! Watching the gopchang and daechang sizzle away on the grill made me want to dig in right away lol. Beef gopchang has that distinct savory charm, while daechang is a dish for those who enjoy a richer, fattier flavor!

If you like both, like we do, ordering one portion each and alternating between them seems like a solid choice~ Eating the garlic chives and potatoes between bites of gopchang made for a nice flavor combo🥰 Dipping into the minari pickle sauce especially helped cut through the richness of the gopchang and daechang a bit!

A sip of somaek, a bite of gopchang, and some garlic chives on the side made me think I'd picked a great dinner that night~ If you're looking for a beef gopchang spot in Bangi-dong, ordering both gopchang and daechang together seems like a good move😉

Finishing with kkakdugi yangbap, the radish kimchi fried rice
After eating gopchang, it's hard to pass on fried rice! So we finished with one portion of kkakdugi yangbap~ It comes out on a hot iron plate😊 There was a soft fried egg on top of the rice, along with kkakdugi (radish kimchi), regular kimchi, and seaweed flakes! The orange-hued fried rice topped with a yellow fried egg looked appetizing just to look at~

Breaking the egg in the middle and mixing it into the rice makes it even more savory, I'd think😄 With the kkakdugi mixed in, it had a different feel from regular fried rice, and it was a great way to wrap up the meal after gopchang! Even after already eating gopchang and daechang, I was glad we also ordered the kkakdugi yangbap~ Personally, I don't feel like I've had a proper meal at a gopchang restaurant unless I finish with the fried rice😆

Is Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang in Bangi-dong worth a visit?
This time, I went to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch in Bangi Food Alley near Jamsil Station and had gopchang, daechang, and kkakdugi yangbap! Ordering one portion each of gopchang and daechang let us enjoy both menu items, and pairing them with the garlic chives and minari pickle worked really well~ Most of all, drinking somaek at the window seat while watching Bangi Food Alley made for a great dinner with friends🥰 Finishing with the kkakdugi yangbap made for a hearty, satisfying meal!
