This time I went to Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch, a great spot for Korean BBQ in Bangi-dong! Best of all, the staff grill the meat for you, so you can just relax and eat without worrying about the grilling haha.

Where is Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch, and how big is it?
The address for Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is 9-13 Ogeum-ro 15-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It spans from the basement level up to the first and second floors, so it's a bigger place than I expected!
I'd recommend it for a Korean BBQ group dinner near Seokchon Lake, or for a date-night spot in Bangi-dong!!
Yukmong's menu and what we ordered
At Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch we ordered the Korean pork sampler 550g for ₩69,900 and the kimchi fried rice with radish for ₩12,000. The sampler set came with Korean knife-cut pork belly, whole pork neck, and outer skirt meat, plus doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) included.

Picked a good combo right off the bat, right?~~
Side dishes and the six dipping sauces
First we tried the banchan (side dishes) one by one. The banchan quality actually matters a lot at a BBQ place, right? Here even the basic sides were delicious, so I kept snacking on them even before the meat arrived hahaha. There was a good variety to pair with the meat too, so I could mix and match to my taste.

To introduce the sauces —
- Fish tamarind sauce
- Yukmong ssamjang
- Onion sauce
- Maldon salt
- Japanese fresh wasabi
- Yukmong pickled ginger
It was nice being able to dip the meat in so many different ways~!

And of course, doenjang jjigae — you can't skip it when eating meat! It's already included in the sampler set, so no need to order stew separately :)
The Korean pork sampler 550g, grilled tableside by staff
Finally, the meat arrives!!

The Korean pork sampler lets you try knife-cut pork belly + whole pork neck + outer skirt meat all at once, which seemed perfect for anyone who wants to eat a variety of cuts. And since staff do all the grilling, we just got to sit back and wait haha.
They even handle the timing and flipping for you, so this kind of place is amazing if you're not great at grilling meat yourself...🤭
Whole pork neck with snowflake marbling

We started with the whole pork neck. Yukmong calls it 'snowflake pork neck,' and the marbling is laced so beautifully through the meat that it looked delicious even just grilled. One bite and the juices came out moist, with the pork neck's signature clean flavor and a nutty richness too. Pork neck can be dry sometimes, but this had the juiciness fully intact — it was amazing!
Yukmong's pork belly, called one of Seoul's top three
And then the pork belly I was most looking forward to!

Yukmong's pork belly, being from the area around the rib cage, had a deep, rich flavor and felt packed with juice. The staff grilled it to a nice golden brown, so it came out exactly ready to eat — one bite in and I immediately said 'wow, the meat here is really good' hahaha. Crispy golden outside, moist juicy inside, with a nutty flavor that built up the more you chewed!

Pork belly really is at its best with that fat and lean meat combo...🤍
Outer skirt meat (galmaegisal) and its chewy bite

And personally, the outer skirt meat was quite delicious! It's a specialty cut that apparently yields only about 200g per pig, and the texture was definitely different from regular pork belly or neck~! Chewy, releasing juice with every bite, and full of rich flavor — so good. I'm generally into these specialty cuts, and the outer skirt meat totally hit my taste...!
Alternating between pork belly → pork neck → outer skirt meat, cut by cut, kept things from getting boring and I just kept eating haha.
Kimchi fried rice with fresh radish salad, a showstopper
And you really have to try this one. Kimchi fried rice with radish, ₩12,000. It already looked unique in photos, but seeing it in person was even more surprising haha. The fried rice is piled up like a tower in the center, surrounded by a ring of egg mixture!

Scooping up the egg and rice together, the spicy kimchi flavor combined with the softness of the egg made it the perfect way to finish off the meal. Thanks to the radish mixed in, the texture was a bit different from regular kimchi fried rice, with a crunchy bite here and there that made it even better. And eating it together with the egg on top, I just kept going back for more hahaha.

Somehow it feels incomplete if you don't finish a BBQ meal with fried rice, and here the fried rice itself was so good that I was totally satisfied🤍
Is Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch worth it?
If you want to properly enjoy delicious Korean pork without worrying about grilling it yourself!
The Korean pork sampler at Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch was great because you get to try three cuts at once, and the knife-cut pork belly in particular had seriously insane juiciness...! The outer skirt meat had such a satisfying chewy texture. Having staff grill it for you meant we could relax without worrying about timing — really satisfying. It'd also be a great choice for a Korean BBQ group dinner near Seokchon Lake.
And the kimchi fried rice with radish we ordered at the end was so good that I kept eating even though I was already full haha. If you're looking for a place in Bangi-dong to enjoy pork belly or Korean pork BBQ with a variety of cuts, this is worth a visit :)
