Namwirye shabu-shabu dinner with soup-dipped rice paper wraps: Dadam

Today I visited Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch near Namwirye Station, sponsored through Superchart.

Actually, this is a Wirye restaurant I used to visit often even before the sponsorship. It's the place I think of whenever I'm craving shabu-shabu. Above all, they have such a wide variety of fresh vegetables that every time I go, I feel like I've eaten a whole pile of veggies haha.

So today I'll share my story from this recent visit to Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye Branch after a while!

Where is Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye, and what does dinner cost?

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is about a 7-minute walk from Exit 3 of Namwirye Station. Adult dinner is 21,900 won per person, and dinner is available from 5pm.

The vegetable self-bar: more than 40 items

I usually visit during dinner hours. This Wirye favorite, Dadam Shabu Shabu, has a spacious, comfortable interior, so I saw many families eating together, and it also looked good for company dinners or gatherings.

And the biggest reason I love this place! The variety of fresh vegetables is really impressive. I heard there are over 40 kinds of vegetables.

The owner apparently brings them in directly from Garak Market every day, and maybe that's why the vegetables feel noticeably fresh.

Loading up a whole plate of various vegetables somehow makes me feel like I'm eating healthy haha. I personally love that you can eat this many vegetables while having shabu-shabu.

Unlimited beef for the shabu-shabu pot

And here's another thing I love! The beef for shabu-shabu is also all-you-can-eat. 🥩

Vegetables alone would feel a bit lacking, right? Being able to eat as much fresh vegetables and beef as I want meant I got my protein in properly too haha. If you're looking for Wirye shabu-shabu, I think you'll love this all-you-can-eat system.

Choosing your two broths at Dadam Shabu Shabu

At Dadam Shabu Shabu you can also choose your broth.

We went with clear broth + spicy broth that day! One side mild, the other side hot and spicy — it was fun choosing according to our mood haha.

Piling in vegetables and beef, boiling it all up, and dipping into the sauce... it just keeps going in haha.

The kind of taste that makes you eat endlessly, just like the all-you-can-eat itself...😂

Rice paper wraps dipped in the shabu-shabu broth

Dadam Shabu Shabu also has ingredients for wolnamssam (Vietnamese rice paper wraps) ready to go.

Wrapping shabu-shabu ingredients in the rice paper gives you a whole different flavor.

I especially love dipping the rice paper briefly in the broth before wrapping it with the shabu-shabu ingredients. This combo is quite the hidden gem haha.

I liked being able to enjoy it multiple ways — eating shabu-shabu, then wolnamssam too.

Finishing with kalguksu noodles and porridge

You can't stop just because you finished the shabu-shabu! You have to have the kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and porridge too haha. Cooking noodles in the remaining broth, then finishing with porridge, makes you feel like you had a proper full meal.

I added sesame oil, sesame seeds, egg, and gim (seaweed) to the rice, plus finely chopped carrot and minari, and made it like that — it was delicious!

When you go for shabu-shabu, isn't finishing with the porridge what really completes the meal? haha.

Ice cream and iced americano from the dessert corner

And another perk of Dadam Shabu Shabu! There's a café space you can enjoy after your meal.

From americano to ice cream, and I heard the affogato — ice cream with a shot of espresso — is also a special treat.

I finished up with ice cream and an iced americano that day. ☕🍦 All for 21,900 won per person — shabu-shabu, wolnamssam, kalguksu, porridge, and dessert!

Being able to handle everything from the meal to dessert in one place was pretty great.

Can you get Dadam Shabu Shabu to go?

They said takeout is available for when you want to make shabu-shabu at home once in a while! Self-packing is also an option :) That was quite appealing too~♡ Being able to fill it with just the ingredients I love — I'll have to try the takeout option next time!

Is Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye worth it?

A Wirye shabu-shabu where you can fill up on hot broth, fresh vegetables, and beef!

It's the place I think of on days when I want to eat lots of vegetables like this, or when I want a comfortable meal. Above all, since I already used to visit this Wirye favorite often, I enjoyed it deliciously again this time haha.
