Wine ladder glass wine at Yeouido Station wine bar Wine Joomak Chacha

In short

Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch is a modern Korean wine bar in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, one minute on foot from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station on the 2nd floor of the Estrenue Building. Stopping by for a second round after dinner, I ordered a glass of red wine and an alcohol-free house sangria from the tablet glass selection along with a fruit cheese toast in the ₩20,000 range, and the bar's homemade wine ladder game lets you pick a wine by number, which makes it easy for beginners. With about 100 wines and a corkage-free policy, Wine Joomak Chacha is an easy second or third stop in Yeouido.

Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch is a modern Korean wine bar just a minute's walk from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station, on the 2nd floor of the Estrenue Building. It's a joomak (Korean-style tavern) serving around 100 kinds of wine at reasonable prices, with a 12-wine ladder game that makes picking easy even for beginners, and its whole point is the unusual pairing of modern Korean food with wine.

A wine bar in Yeouido where even beginners can feel comfortable — it's corkage-free too, so it works fine as a second or third stop: "Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Branch." We came for a second round after dinner, and there were plenty of light snacks plus glass wines, and since I can't drink right now, they kindly had alcohol-free options ready too. Had a great time haha.

Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Branch is a minute's walk from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station. Exit 3 is the entrance before the underground passage to The Hyundai Seoul begins — come out and you'll see the Estrenue Building right on your right, then just take the escalator up to the 2nd floor!

Naver reservations are available, but walk-ins work too! The day I visited was a late weekday evening and the place was popular — there were a lot of guests. Might be worth calling ahead to check for a seat!

Inside Wine Joomak Chacha: mood and seating in Yeouido

Wine bottles line the exterior, and once inside, the decor is built entirely from countless wine bottles from the entrance onward. At Wine Joomak Chacha you can enjoy about 100 kinds of wine at reasonable prices. It's not the stiff, formal wine-bar vibe — the whole new concept is a modern Korean wine tavern, so anyone can come in without feeling out of place.

There's a big table for group seating in the center, with various options from 2-tops to 4-tops. Being in Yeouido, there seemed to be a lot of office workers who'd come for their second round.

It really has the vibe of a Korean tavern. But the window seats looked nice too, with views of Yeouido's tall buildings out the window.

How do wine beginners choose? The wine ladder and tablet glass selection

Ordering is done easily on a tablet. Go into the menu called <Glass Selection, the Joy of One Glass> and you can order by the glass. Red wine, white wine, highball, even alcohol-free — you can enjoy all of it lightly without pressure, so highly recommended for a second or third stop drinking in Yeouido.

Guide sheet for the homemade wine ladder game

Also great for wine beginners visiting: they've made their own wine ladder game. Depending on your preference, you climb down the ladder and land on a number, and you pick your wine based on that number. Wine beginners don't really know what flavor or aroma goes with what wine, right? So ordering by the number that comes up on the ladder seems to raise your chances of getting something you'll like.

Glass red wine, alcohol-free house sangria and fruit cheese toast

What we ordered at Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch was a glass of red wine, an alcohol-free house sangria, and a fruit cheese toast (?) whose exact name I don't remember, around ₩20,000.

A glass of red wine

My friend ordered a glass of red wine, and the staff member brought over a scale along with the glass, pouring it precisely by weight right in front of us~

I ordered the alcohol-free house sangria! This was a completely new flavor for me. Something about it tasted like grape jelly haha.

I thought it was one of those Tonky-style crunchy snack things and chewed it, turns out it wasn't meant to be eaten ^.^ Mine had orange, lemon, and even pear in it, so it was even more refreshing and delicious.

What we ordered was the fruit cheese toast (?), but I don't remember the exact menu name, and I couldn't find it searching Naver or the menu board... The actual store has even more menu items that aren't listed on the menu board! It was around ₩20,000, and it made for a light snack even when we were already full.

On top of crunchy toast came fruit cheese, granola, radish sprouts, jam and more — a snack that kept going down even when we were already full.
