Seonyudo Station burger taste test, two burgers at once: BAS Burger
In short
BAS Burger Seonyudo is a handmade burger restaurant right in front of Exit 4 of Seonyudo Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Having only ever eaten franchise burgers, the writer ordered the BAS Burger at 7,800 won and the BAS Chicken Burger at 8,500 won and ate them side by side: the chicken was juicy and the fries were crisp outside and soft inside. Dine-in guests can keep helping themselves to potato chips, so BAS Burger Seonyudo is worth a return visit with a beer.

I was trying to figure out what to eat near Seonyudo Station and ended up at BAS Burger Seonyudo! I'd only ever eaten Burger King, Lotteria, and McDonald's before this, but after this visit my mind kind of changed haha. It was a whole new world realizing what a handmade burger could taste like.

Where is BAS Burger Seonyudo? Right outside Seonyudo Station Exit 4

Coming out of Seonyudo Station Exit 4, it's almost right there, so there's no way to get lost even on a first visit. The red brick building has a big BAS BURGER sign that's visible from far away. There's no dedicated parking lot, so if you're driving, you'll need to park at a nearby public lot.
Inside the brick-walled dining room: solo seats and group tables

Walk inside and the brick walls are softly lit, giving the place a cozy vibe for a burger joint. The tables are spaced comfortably enough that eating alone looked fine too. There's also group seating for 2 to 16 people, and they'll set up a spot if you reserve ahead. They open at 8am, but note that it's takeout only until 10:30!
Kiosk ordering and BAS Burger Seonyudo prices

Ordering is done via kiosk. The menu comes up with photos, which made it easy to choose. I ordered two burgers that day — the BAS Burger and the chicken burger!
- BAS Burger ₩7,800
- BAS Chicken Burger ₩8,500
- Double BAS Burger ₩11,300
- Sriracha Cheese Burger ₩6,900
- Crunch Chicken Burger ₩8,900
- Wasabi Mayo Shrimp Burger ₩10,900
Single burgers run in the ₩7,000–8,000 range, which isn't a bad price for a handmade burger.
Pokémon dolls everywhere and free potato chip refills

While waiting after ordering, I looked around the store and found a shelf packed with tons of Pokémon dolls haha. They were stacked densely by type, and it was so cute.

Ketchup and mayo are set out so you can help yourself without hesitation. And here's the really good part — if you eat in the dining hall, you can keep grabbing potato chips! They're salty enough to be perfect beer snacks, but sadly I had to drive that day, so I settled for cola instead haha.
How do the BAS Burger and BAS Chicken Burger taste?

The moment the burgers arrived, the size alone won me over. They come half-wrapped in paper, easy to hold and eat, with a generous side of fries. Ordering the light, plain BAS Burger alongside the chicken burger made it fun to alternate between the two.

The chicken burger's chicken was genuinely juicy, and I was moved eating it. The batter is crispy while the inside stays tender rather than dry, and the thick layer of lettuce keeps it from feeling greasy. Overall it's light and clean-tasting, the kind of flavor anyone would like.

The fries were no joke either. I used to be a McDonald's fries loyalist, but these were crispy outside and soft inside, and I kept reaching for more.
Verdict from a first-time handmade burger eater
Having only eaten franchise burgers before, coming to BAS Burger Seonyudo made me understand why everyone goes out for handmade burgers haha. The burger was light, the chicken was juicy, and even the fries were great — a meal with no weak point. Since the chips keep coming too, I'll have to come back with beer on a day I'm not driving.
