Dog-friendly Pohang crab restaurant, 1.7kg à la carte: Gallilli Daegae
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a dog-friendly snow crab restaurant at the entrance of Jukdo Market in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Because neither diner eats the raw fish or mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) in the set menus, they followed the owner's advice and picked just two imported snow crabs, 1.7kg in total, to be steamed, then filled up on the banchan spread, crab roe fried rice and seafood ramyeon. With a 1-hour discount ticket for the Jukdo Market public parking lot thrown in, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a satisfying stop on a crab trip to Pohang.

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang: a dog-friendly crab restaurant at the Jukdo Market entrance
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a crab and sashimi restaurant right at the entrance of Jukdo Market in Pohang, and it's dog-friendly. Open daily 9:30–22:30, last order at 20:30.
We're not big on seafood in general but we do love crustaceans... we came all the way to Pohang, so we had to eat crab before leaving! Not much of a planned trip, but crab still had to be from a good place!
Where to park at Jukdo Market, and how to get the 1-hour discount ticket
We parked at Lot 3, the public parking lot closest to the restaurant. Public parking, cheap and great~ Before you leave, just tell them you parked at the public lot and they'll give you a 1-hour parking discount ticket.
The parking ticket they gave us on the way out! We arrived earlier than our reservation so we'd parked for a while, but after the discount it came to just ₩850. Definitely use the public parking lot.
After parking, we walked into Jukdo Market and found the restaurant right at the entrance! About a 3-minute walk from the parking lot, so it's not far and easy to find 👍

So many set menus on display. Standing there thinking 'what should we eat, what should we eat' with excitement as we walked in~

Out front are bakdal (snow) crabs sorted by weight, and next to them, Dokdo shrimp and other fresh seafood filling the tanks. I've seen reviews saying the Dokdo shrimp is amazing too, but since neither of us eats raw fish well, I'll have to try it next time with someone who does!

The inside looked spacious and clean. We came on a weekday early afternoon so it wasn't crowded and we could eat in peace haha.
There's a restroom inside too, separated for men and women, love it, clap clap.

Can you skip the set menu and order only snow crab?
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang has a ton of set menus!! Every set comes with seafood, mulhoe, sashimi, spicy stew, and more. Since we weren't going to eat everything that comes with a set, we asked if there was a way to just order crab, and they told us we could look at the crabs directly and pick whatever weight we wanted.

We went with imported snow crab, and the crabs were sorted by price and weight. We were debating how much we'd need for two people, and the owner kindly explained and made recommendations! Gotta have at least one each, right~! We decided on two crabs, 1.7kg total. Steam it up nicely, please~
The banchan spread, from abalone porridge to horaegi squid
After choosing our crab and sitting down, the first thing to arrive was abalone porridge. A perfect appetizer before the crab. Nutty and delicious..!

The banchan kept coming without stopping. Soy-marinated crab, spicy raw fish salad, sweet potato fritters, all sorts of things. I'm obsessed with soy-marinated crab, so the moment I tasted it I wanted to order a bowl of rice and demolish it right there haha.
Then something came out that I didn't recognize, so I asked, and they said they make the sauce themselves. Tastes kind of like garlic sauce, with crab meat mixed in.

A refreshing clam soup came out too.
This one the auntie recommended, said it was conch and mushroom. It had a chewy texture so I thought it might be squid, but it was delicious — I think the conch was marinated in sauce. The conch and mushroom combo was a real hidden gem, so good 👍

Curious what this was, my boyfriend and I were debating whether it was baby squid or webfoot octopus, but they told us it was hore-gi (a small squid variety) haha. Is hore-gi different from regular squid?

Two snow crabs, 1.7kg: was the meat packed in?
After working through the banchan spread, the main dish arrived with a drum roll!

Insane, insane!! Even just looking at it, the crab looks delicious!! They threw in two shrimp on the house too..!! Love it~❤
Look at that meat packed in so tight. It's chaos, absolute chaos~
We were surprised at how much meat was actually inside... and they'd already cleaned and prepped everything for easy eating, so all we had to do was open our mouths and shovel it in ㅠ_ㅜ
Even the claws were pre-cracked, so with one little pop the meat just slides right out. I wanted to eat all four claws myself^^ pure greed.

The tomalley looks so rich and delicious ㅠㅠㅠ I'm crying, crying, I want to eat it again. So moved~

Pulling a claw out and dipping it straight into the tomalley — nothing more to say;; crab-level insanity~!!
Eating at the table with a dog at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang
I kept feeling those pleading eyes next to me and felt bad eating alone, so I shared a little. Love you~! A crab-eating dog~ haha

Finishing with crab roe fried rice and seafood ramyeon
After eating for a while, we ordered the crab roe fried rice. Ah, my mouth is watering already 🤤 Rich and thick with the flavor of the tomalley, nutty and delicious.

Piled some picked-out crab meat on top and took a big bite. Can you see the crab meat picked onto my side plate? I'm the richest person alive right now~
The seafood ramyeon (instant noodle soup) came out using the coupon we got from our Naver reservation. Why does ramyeon never get old, no matter when you eat it. Right when you start to get a little tired of it, one slurp of the broth and you can just keep going endlessly ㅠㅠ

They're also running review events on Naver and Instagram. We joined and got a free drink out of it >_< We were too busy shoveling in crab to snap a photo of the soju though ㅠㅠ We polished off three bottles of soju with the crab. When the food is this good, the alcohol just goes down smoothly;
They told us that calling a regular daeri (designated driver) service can be tough if you visit early, so we used Kakao Daeri to get back to our lodging haha. All the staff were kind and the food was delicious too, so it was a really, really satisfying meal. If we come back to Pohang, we're definitely coming again..! Noted ✨
