Katsu Shokudou Suyu 🍽️ I was trying to figure out what to eat near Suyu and ended up dropping into Katsu Shokudou Suyu on a whim. I love tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) — especially kimchi nabe (kimchi hot pot) — so I'd been looking for good spots near Suyu Station and found this place.
I was going to order the kimchi nabe but got suddenly hooked on the kimchi udon set instead, and what is this 🤩 it's insane!!! Here's my review of Katsu Shokudou, which I want to recommend as the kimchi udon spot near Suyu Station 🍲🥢 let's go 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
Where is Katsu Shokudou Suyu, and is there parking?
Katsu Shokudou Suyu is on the 1st floor of Episode Suyu 838, near Suyu Station. It's close to the station so it was easy to get to, and there are a lot of good restaurants nearby, so it's a great spot for lunch.
Free parking is also available, so it's great to visit by car too 👍🏻 (personally, I love restaurants with parking haha)

Overall the place is clean, and the atmosphere feels comfortable enough for eating alone, so it seems like a decent spot for solo dining near Suyu Station. The spacing between tables was reasonable and the store was clean, so it felt pleasant 😆

I came here to eat kimchi nabe lol but suddenly craved kimchi udon and switched. Here's the real review.
Kimchi udon set: a broth as rich as kimchi jjigae
🥢 Kimchi udon set. Wow... this was genuinely delicious... insane. I personally love the kimchi udon at Tudari, and this is the upgraded, premium version of that 👍🏻
The broth was rich and packed with umami 🤩 the noodles were chewy and the broth so deep that it was incredibly good. My friend who came with me was amazed too (it was as rich as kimchi jjigae). I want to come back just for this. Honestly the number one kimchi udon I've had — it exceeded my expectations (to the point where I think they should rename the place after it).
The tonkatsu and shrimp katsu that come with the set
Eating it with tonkatsu balanced out the richness too, and the combo was great. Japanese-style fried tempura 🍤🍤🍤 was well-fried and delicious. A solid, basics-done-right fry!
Pink salt and pepper you can dip to taste. Such a nice touch 🤩👍🏻 you can also mix it up with wasabi and eat however you like! Personally, I think the plain pink salt tastes best.
Mozzarella cheese katsu, made with yuzu low-temperature-aged pork
Next up: 🧀 mozzarella cheese katsu. Cheese katsu is always a winner visually first.
The cheese stretches long 🧀 crispy outside, juicy inside — a proper, fundamental cheese katsu. Maybe because it's yuzu low-temperature-aged tonkatsu, the meat was tender with a clean flavor.
Personally, I love the combo of kimchi udon with cheese katsu 🥰🥰🥰 please eat them together like this! The combination was really great. Worth the deliberation over what to order haha 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😆
By the way, the water was good too. Seemed like barley tea. Overall the food felt clean and thoughtfully made, dish by dish. ⭐️The kimchi udon in particular was really delicious⭐️ Usually at a tonkatsu place you only think about the katsu, but here even the udon was great, which was maximum satisfaction for a kimchi udon lover like me.
The restroom is right in front of the store. I personally care quite a bit about restroom cleanliness when I go to restaurants or cafés, and it was well kept, so I was satisfied 👍🏻
Final verdict on Katsu Shokudou Suyu
Because it's yuzu low-temperature-aged tonkatsu, the meat was tender and delicious, and the kimchi udon set's rich broth flavor left kimchi jjigae in the dust. Next time I want to try the kimchi nabe. 100% revisit intention, this is a genuine review.
