Godfather vs Hangover burger comparison, Daeheung-dong: Burgiz

If you love burgers, you probably already know Burgiz! I used to head to the original Tanbang-dong location whenever I had a craving, but this time I heard they'd opened a new spot in Daeheung-dong, so I went to check out Burgiz Daeheung on a weekend morning haha

The new Burgiz in Daeheung-dong, what does it look like outside?

Personally, I think Burgiz is the number one gourmet burger place in Daejeon..

Such a hip exterior vibe! Let's head inside and see if the new store keeps that same taste~

Interior, seating, and the self-serve sauce bar

Being a newly opened store, the interior was super clean! There's a long table in the middle plus seating along the wall, so the space was bigger than I expected.

On one side there were four sauces to add to taste: mustard, ketchup, tabasco, and sriracha. Tabasco and sriracha aren't common at burger places, and I love that kind of thoughtful detail haha. There was also water in a cute camping-style water bottle, plus a sink where you can quickly wash your hands~

From cheeseburgers to avocado, mushroom, crispy chicken, and veggie burgers, it was genuinely fun just reading the menu haha. Sides ranged from plain fries to cheese, garlic butter, and pepperoni cheese fries. I also spotted salad, chicken snacks, milkshakes, and beer.

Since I already know every menu item at Burgiz is delicious.. after much deliberation, I chose the Hangover and the Godfather~~ Picked the signature menu items and ordered a milkshake to go with the fries too!

Tada!! I got the burgers, fries, and milkshake all in one frame~ The clean store colors and the green wrapping paper go so well together, the whole spread looks very on-brand for Burgiz!

The Godfather burger

First up, the Godfather burger!! Cheese and bacon on top of the patty, layered with red onion, pickle, tomato, and lettuce! It's so packed that the ingredients spill out the sides.

The Hangover burger — if you had to pick just one?

And then the Hangover burger!~ On top of the cheese-covered patty comes bacon, a hash brown, and a fried egg, making the thickness absolutely massive. Good things deserve a close-up look~ Both the Godfather and Hangover were delicious, being signature menu items, but if I had to eat just one!! After some thought, I think I'd go with the Godfather haha. It feels a bit more like a proper gourmet burger, a slightly more upscale taste? 🫢🫢🫢

The fries + milkshake combo

Dip the fries right into the milkshake! The combo of salty fries and sweet shake is the kind of thing that comes back to mind just from looking at the photo haha.

After the feast~ the tray left with nothing but wrappers speaks for itself about how satisfying the day was.. My belief that Burgiz is the best gourmet burger in Daejeon proved right once again, heh.

Final verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Having visited the Tanbang-dong original often, I was excited to check out Burgiz Daeheung too, and I left happy after eating at the spacious, clean new store with a friendly owner! Just keep in mind before visiting that, being in a small commercial alley, there's no dedicated parking lot. Still, the burgers were as delicious as ever. Whenever I'm craving a gourmet burger in Daejeon, I'll keep coming back to Burgiz~ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
