Pangyo Italian set for two: Cotto e Ricotta pizza at Raon Sik Tak

In short

Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch is an Italian restaurant tucked inside the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Two of us ordered Set 1 for Two and shared three dishes: a Cotto e Ricotta pizza, ragu pasta and cream potato gnocchi. The chewy wood-fired crust, deep ragu sauce and gently sweet cream gnocchi worked well eaten in rotation, making Raon Sik Tak an easy pick for a Pangyo date or a casual get-together.

Having a rare meal out in Pangyo, I was looking around for where to eat and ended up at Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch, tucked inside the Baekhyeon-dong café street. Raon Sik Tak serves authentic Italian food, and beyond pizza and pasta they also have gnocchi, salads, and more, which caught my eye. Since it's a newly opened place, I was curious about the interior too, and I'd been looking for somewhere to eat at a relaxed pace in Pangyo, so I decided to visit.

Walking in, the space felt neatly arranged overall. It works well as a spot to sit down for pizza and pasta, and the vibe wasn't too formal, so it seemed like a comfortable choice for a date or a casual get-together.

What also caught my eye at Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch was how they used actual cooking ingredients as part of the interior. It didn't feel like decoration for decoration's sake — the ingredients displayed were ones actually connected to the food, which naturally hinted at what kind of dishes Raon Sik Tak makes.

Ordering Set 1 for Two at Raon Sik Tak in Baekhyeon-dong

As a Baekhyeon-dong café street restaurant and a Pangyo Western food spot, there's a good variety of menu items, so it's fun just picking what to order.

This time we ordered Set 1 for Two. For the pizza I chose Cotto e Ricotta, and for the pasta I picked the ragu pasta. Since the set also included gnocchi, we got to try pizza, pasta, and gnocchi all together. I liked that we could split three different dishes without having to order extra items separately. When two people each order just one dish, you end up eating the same flavor the whole meal, but with a set like this, sharing several menu items in small portions worked out well.

First up was the Cotto e Ricotta pizza. With ricotta cheese and cotto ham piled on top, the toppings looked quite generous. Taking a bite, the crust had a nicely chewy texture, likely from the wood-fired oven, and the ricotta cheese blended in smoothly.

How does the cream potato gnocchi taste?

We also tried the cream potato gnocchi that came with the set. The moderately sweet, soft cream sauce paired well with the chewy gnocchi. The gnocchi held its shape without turning mushy, giving it a nice bite, and it went well with the smooth cream sauce. The cream sauce wasn't overly sweet or heavy, just gently sweet, so it was easy to eat without feeling weighed down. Alternating bites of gnocchi between the pizza and the ragu pasta made for a fun variety of textures and flavors.

Trying the ragu pasta in the set

If the pizza was a sweet-and-salty combo of soft ricotta cheese and salty cotto ham, the ragu pasta was centered on a rich, deep sauce flavor, quite different from the pizza — so switching between the two, the contrast was clear. Taking a bite of pizza and then a bite of ragu pasta gave two distinctly different flavors, which made the meal feel less repetitive and more varied than sticking to a single dish.

Is Raon Sik Tak a good spot for a Pangyo date?

This visit to Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch left a good impression — the space was clean, and the way ingredients were naturally worked into the interior stuck with me. Ordering the Set for Two meant my choices of Cotto e Ricotta and ragu pasta came together with gnocchi as well, so the two of us could share several dishes. Everything we tried suited my taste overall, and after the meal I found myself wanting to come back and try other items on the menu. If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Baekhyeon-dong, Pangyo, or a place to eat on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, Raon Sik Tak Pangyo Branch is worth checking out.
