Bucheon Korean restaurant lunch: wait of 8, cheonggukjang refill: Gim
In short
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a Korean set-meal restaurant in the Wonmisan food alley in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, about 800m from both Gachiul Station and Bucheon Stadium Station. Arriving at 11:30am, the writer drew waiting number 8 and was seated within 10 minutes, then ordered the tteuranchae bapsang set for two (13,000 won each) plus cockle salad (16,000 won); the braised potatoes were refilled at the self-serve corner and the cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) came back freshly reboiled. With pot rice, nurungji and an espresso on the way out, Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang feels like a home-cooked spread worth the short wait.

Lunch at 11:30am: waiting number 8, seated in 10 minutes
Today's order was tteuranchae bapsang for two plus an added cockle salad. It comes with freshly cooked pot rice, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), and 12 neatly arranged side dishes.

I arrived around 11:30am and there was already a wait. I got waiting number 8 and was a bit worried, but luckily I was seated within 10 minutes.

Once inside, it was full as expected. This place seems to do well year-round, no matter the season. There are also tables set up for group dining, perfect for gatherings or company dinners.

This spot originally had a customer sitting there — I snapped it while they briefly stepped away. Things only start to quiet down a bit after 1pm on weekdays.
The self-serve banchan corner and a braised potato refill

This is the self-serve corner. You can refill any of the side dishes here.

I especially loved the braised potatoes, so I went back for a refill.

A 12-dish table with cockle salad added
Today I ordered the tteuranchae bapsang for two and added a cockle salad. It was my first time trying it, and the portion looked really generous.

Here's the 12-dish spread. So many kinds of banchan, and each one is delicious.

Eating a healthy meal out isn't easy these days, so I love that you can eat as many namul (seasoned vegetable) dishes as you want here.

The savory cheonggukjang is a standout too. It came out rich and thick.

The cockle salad goes great with rice. It has a different flavor from the other side dishes, so mixing it in along the way was a nice change of pace.

The portion is huge too. I ate my fill of cockles today.

Pot rice, nurungji and a freshly reboiled cheonggukjang refill
The rice comes as pot rice (dolsotbap).

Since it's freshly cooked, you get to enjoy warm rice from the start. I scooped some out to save for nurungji (scorched rice) later.

The cheonggukjang was so good I asked for a refill, and they reboiled it fresh. Such a great deal, right?

On the way out, I finished with a freshly brewed espresso from the machine by the door. From the meal to the finish, it was all perfect!
Verdict: a Bucheon Korean restaurant to take your parents to
This is already a well-known favorite among locals. The space is fairly large and works well for group gatherings too. With dining-out prices so high these days, it's nice to eat well here at a reasonable price. It's also a perfect spot to bring your parents or elders. If you're looking for Korean food in Bucheon, definitely visit — there's no one who's been here just once, only people who've never been at all.
※ Please note the restaurant may get busier after this post.
