Today I'm sharing an honest review of the hair and makeup I got done at Comma Hair & Makeup in Hongdae 🤗

Comma Hair & Makeup is about a 4-minute walk from Hongdae Station, so accessibility was really great! If you're looking for a hair and makeup place in Hongdae, this location is super convenient haha. Comma Hair is on the 2nd floor of the building!

The waiting area: slippers, lockers and bloating-relief tea

Once you step inside Comma Hair & Makeup, you first change into indoor slippers. There's also a separate locker to store your personal belongings, and a comfortable sofa to wait on, which I liked.

While sitting on the sofa waiting, they brought me a choice of coffee or bloating-relief tea ☕️ I went with the bloating tea! I waited comfortably until my reserved time came, then went in for makeup!

Makeup in a private room at Comma Hair & Makeup

Comma Hair & Makeup does makeup in individual private spaces, which was great — as someone who's a bit self-conscious about getting makeup done alongside other people (total I energy), this setup was perfect for me hahaha.

And the sheer amount of cosmetics laid out in front of me… so many products, right?!?! It felt like a dream vanity for us girls 👍🏻 Before starting the actual makeup, they carefully asked about my skin type, the makeup look I wanted, and my hairstyle preference!

Skincare for oily-combination skin comes first

First, they did skincare tailored to my skin type! I have oily-combination skin, so I was a little worried the makeup might look cakey or slide off, but they prepped my skin carefully according to its condition, which I really appreciated. What stood out was that they didn't just apply skincare with hands — they used brushes and sponges, which felt more hygienic too haha.

Then the real makeup began! They figured out what look would suit my face shape and features, and honestly it matched so closely with what I'd been thinking myself that I was a little surprised ❗ A moment where I thought, experts really are experts 🤭 While working, they also shared some tips I could use on my own, which was great since I can try them at home too!

Next came the hair styling. When I mentioned I'd be taking photos, they found a style suited to my face shape. They styled it to keep the wave look I'd requested while also complementing my face shape, and when I saw the finished result I really loved it 🥹 Both the hair and makeup matched the mood I wanted perfectly — very satisfying!

Finishing up with a lip touch-up kit to take home

After everything was done, they also gave me a separate lip touch-up kit so I could fix my lips if the color faded while out — such a thoughtful touch haha. I loved the lip color they used on me that day so much that I asked what product it was and even took a photo of it 🤭
