Bob haircut & root volume perm at Heiro Jamsil Lotte World hair salon

I feel like a lot of families head to Lotte World Adventure and the ice rink in Jamsil on weekends to go skating, but did you know there's a hair salon tucked behind Paul Bassett in the ice rink food court? I go around there a lot myself and had no idea a salon was there.

I got a bob haircut and a volume perm at the ice rink salon on a weekend morning~~ If you've been putting off a haircut or perm while bringing the kids to Lotte World or the ice rink, this could be a great spot. Oh, and of course kids get their hair done there too 😊 Watching the staff keep the kids entertained while cutting their hair, I could tell this is a really convenient salon if you live near Jamsil or are just visiting and want to get your hair sorted at the same time.

How to get to the ice rink hair salon

Head toward Lotte World Adventure~ If you come underground, follow the passage connecting from Jamsil Station Exit 4 all the way to Lotte World Adventure — it also connects to the Lotte Mart basement — or come in through the Jamsil clock tower and head down underground.

Then take the escalator down at the spot marked 'Ice Garden' right in the center!

Once you ride this escalator down, Heiro Jamsil Lotte World is behind the Paul Bassett coffee shop in the B3 ice rink food court.

Interior vibe and seating

The interior is decorated clean and fresh! There's more seating behind what's shown in the leftmost photo, and there's also that 2-seat zone in the middle photo. You can relax comfortably in the private single shampoo room.

Before — semi-curly hair with leftover flat-iron marks

I'd had a tassel cut before, but it had grown out a lot. My hair is semi-curly, so the curl tends to come out more in summer — which is nice because even a bob gets volume when I curl it with a roller — but right now it hadn't been long since my last straightening, so I'd been using a flat iron on it and the marks were still left in. It needed sorting out, and I'd been having to blow-dry it straight with a brush every time, which was pretty inconvenient.

I really should have gotten a summer volume perm sooner — but even now, if it rains or anything, it flips out, so a volume perm is very urgently needed!!

Getting ready after booking with designer Koi~~ We chatted a bit, and Koi guessed a lot about me just from my first impression and the vibe I gave off — oh~~ right! Spot on lol... should I be getting a mat spread out for a fortune-telling session or something......

But people like this tend to have real sense for it. Reading a person's vibe, head shape, face shape, body type all at once fast — I think that's essential if you do hair for a living! So I decided to trust and leave it to them~~

Since it had originally been cut into a bob but was just growing out to an awkward length, the weight was all pulling down and it wasn't looking great. Excited for today's hair~~~~~~

Moved to the shampoo room, and I was told this particular shampoo helps remove residual chemicals from previous treatments. I remembered I'd had something done to my hair back in January and mentioned it, and hahaha, they made sure to help start fresh from my hair's natural state.

When you're waiting a long time your throat gets dry and your mouth gets bored, right? They gave me iced coffee and a simple biscuit, and having that meant I wasn't bored during the whole treatment time lol

Just finished the shampoo. You can see the curl shape here that got set in and left marks from the flat iron before lol. Cleaning it all up today so I get easy-to-manage hair that cuts down my morning routine — let's go.

While I was getting my treatment, a lot of parents who'd come to the ice rink with their kids were coming in to get haircuts too. It's a great spot for people living in Jamsil to get their hair done while out shopping or near home.

They put a guard on my forehead to protect my eyes, and gave me a plastic shield for my ears so nothing would get on them. Really came in handy. It wasn't uncomfortable either.

The softening process — all in on root volume

Applied the solution and let it sit. After checking that the softening for the volume perm had worked well, I went to the shampoo room to wash it out. But Koi was seriously so dedicated to bringing out root volume lol. Even though it took some time, a lot of care and effort went into building up the roots.

I don't have much volume on the sides of my face, so after a volume perm the sides can go flat and make your face look kind of sad, but they built up volume both on top and on the sides, so the finished result had really great volume overall.
