Sunseong-myeon café for black sesame cream latte, Dangjin: MIMI

While traveling around Dangjin, I was looking for somewhere to take a break and stopped by MIMI Coffee Mill. The name stuck in my memory because it was so unique, and once I got there in person, the inside was way bigger than the exterior suggested. Both the drinks and the desserts were delicious — let me introduce this Dangjin café, MIMI Coffee Mill!

Where is MIMI Coffee Mill, and what are its hours?

MIMI Coffee Mill is located at 1064 Nambu-ro, Sunseong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do. It's open Monday to Saturday 10:00–21:00, and Sundays 10:00–20:00.

MIMI Coffee Mill is out toward the Sunseong-myeon side of Dangjin. Driving there, the sign came into view right beside the road, so it wasn't hard to find! We came by car too, parked right out front, and went straight in.

Ordering was done through a kiosk. There was quite a lot on the menu. Coffee, non-coffee, cake, bread, ice cream, even stuffed macarons — picking just one of each was a bit of a struggle. There were basic coffee items alongside signature drinks like the MIMI cream latte. I also spotted some regionally flavored items, like Dangjin bean sundubu (soft tofu) ice cream and sweet potato latte.

When I visited, a few items were marked sold out. If you've got your heart set on a particular dessert, it's probably best not to visit too late in the day!

Inside MIMI Coffee Mill: seating and atmosphere

The inside of MIMI Coffee Mill had a really relaxing vibe! The chairs and tables were super comfortable, and the seats were spacious, so it seemed like it would be even better with family or a group.

There were quite a few customers who seemed to be locals. Seems like a neighborhood favorite — which just means the coffee's good haha 😆

It was pretty hot out that day, but the AC was cranked up so high it was super cool inside..💨💨💨

Why you should drink the MIMI cream latte unstirred

The menu item that stood out most inside MIMI Coffee Mill was the MIMI cream latte. There was a big poster of it on the wall, and it was obvious right away that it was the signature drink. The sign said to drink it without a straw and without mixing, so we tried it just like that.

The tea coaster was unusual — it matched the name MIMI Coffee Mill so well haha!! It was a sweet, cream-topped coffee, and if you're normally into that style, you'd like this even more! I'm a fan of cream coffee, so I loved it, and my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot too!!

Black sesame powder was sprinkled on top, so with every sip the black sesame aroma really came through clearly.🖤

Olive ciabatta, lemon torte and sweet potato gelato

The olive ciabatta was even better dipped in sauce !! The bread was soft and chewy!!!

We tried a bit of everything for dessert. The olive bread was mild and tasty, and the lemon cake was sweet, going perfectly with coffee. The sweet potato gelato was something different, so I gave it a try, and it really tasted like sweet potato — a really delicious ice cream.

Retro props and the photo zone at MIMI Coffee Mill

There were retro props scattered around MIMI Coffee Mill that really set off the café's mood. A photo zone that perfectly fits the retro atmosphere..! Photos here turn out really well, so definitely take one. It's right in front of the women's restroom haha.

They also sell simple snacks, so if you're traveling around Dangjin, it seems like a good spot to grab a snack for the drive back.

For anyone traveling in Dangjin or looking for a spot for a group hangout, I'd recommend MIMI Coffee Mill — the MIMI cream latte was seriously so good ❤️
