Seongsu café near Seoul Forest with windows that open wide: Iridescent

I was wandering around Seongsu alone and the weather was so nice I started wondering where to grab coffee — that's how I ended up at Iridescent! The weather was honestly too good to stay cooped up indoors that day, but this place had its front floor-to-ceiling windows opened wide, so it felt almost like an outdoor café. Bottom line up front: the combo of that weather and the café's vibe was just perfect haha. If you're looking for a Seongsu café recommendation, especially on a sunny day, this is the place I'd point you to.

It's also close to Seoul Forest, so it's a good stop after a walk through the park. It was an easy walk from either Ttukseom Station Exit 8 or Seoul Forest Station Exit 5.

An open-concept Seongsu café with windows that open wide

What I liked most the moment I stepped into Iridescent was the atmosphere! The front is one big floor-to-ceiling window, and that day it was opened all the way, so the inside and outside of the café flowed together naturally.

I've really been loving these open-concept Seongsu cafés lately. Sitting fully outdoors can get uncomfortable with sun or wind, but here you're inside the café while still catching the outside air and atmosphere — just right. And of course, the weather was genuinely amazing the day I went, which made it even better haha.

A bright Seongsu café — how do the photos turn out?

Sunlight reached naturally all the way inside Iridescent, giving the whole place a bright feel. So I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for a well-lit Seongsu café. With natural light coming in, the colors in my photos came out pretty, and since the café itself is so clean and neat, even casual shots looked good.

Is it comfortable going solo?

I visited alone that day, and Iridescent worked well for a solo café trip. Going to a café alone can feel a bit awkward when the vibe is too date-oriented or all the tables are set up for groups, but here I could sit by myself, sip my drink, and relax comfortably.

The cinnamon grapefruit granita, 8,500 won

What I ordered was the cinnamon grapefruit granita! It cost 8,500 won.

When I first saw the name on the menu, I thought, wait, cinnamon and grapefruit together? I couldn't really picture the flavor lol. But I was curious so I ordered it anyway, and the combo turned out better than expected. The tart, refreshing punch of grapefruit comes through strongly, with cinnamon aroma layered in, but the cinnamon never overpowers it. So it's subtly different without ruining the grapefruit's tanginess!

Since it's a granita, it has that crunchy, icy texture, which made it perfect for a cool refresh on a nice day. If you like grapefruit and tangy flavors, I think you'll be into this one haha. It was my first time trying this combination, and since it's not something you'd normally come across, it stuck with me even more.

Sitting alone, sipping my cinnamon grapefruit granita and watching the outside go by while the weather was gorgeous and a breeze drifted in… honestly, that day I felt like I'd made the right call with this café lol. The drink's taste matters, of course, but sometimes it's when the day's weather and the space's atmosphere line up perfectly that a café really sticks in your memory. For me, Iridescent hit that mark that day! Having the windows open all the way especially let me soak in that distinct Seongsu vibe. If you prefer open, airy spaces over stuffy indoor cafés, I think you'll love it even more. If you're looking for an open-concept Seongsu café on a sunny day, I'd recommend this one!

Overall, Iridescent was great for going alone and relaxing at ease, with beautiful natural light and an open layout that made the whole visit satisfying. If you're near Seoul Forest looking for a Seongsu café recommendation, or hunting for a bright Seongsu café where photos turn out nicely, it's worth a stop. Personally, I think the best time to go is on a day when the windows can be opened all the way haha.
