Omurice with a cutting show at Apgujeong Rodeo: Eulji Darak Dosan
In short
Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park is an omurice and pasta restaurant on the 2nd floor near Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station in Gangnam, Seoul. On a weekday lunch the writer ordered the signature Darak Omurice, spicy crab risotto, and a katsu sando on the side, even getting a staff cutting show for the omurice, and found all three dishes clean-tasting with no strong dislikes. Quiet enough for conversation, it's a solid pick for a casual date or blind date spot in Apgujeong.

A bookshelf for a door, waiting and reservations
I took a half-day off the day before a wedding and, since I was already in Apgujeong Rodeo, wanted a nice-vibe pasta place for lunch. I remembered really enjoying Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park before, so I went back :)
The entrance is unusual right from the start haha — at first I was confused, but it turned out the door was actually a bookshelf. So novel and fun. Got me excited from the very beginning haha
I remember there being a huge wait when I came on a weekend before,, if you're heading here for a date or blind date, I'd recommend booking ahead through Catch Table!

They said to ring the bell when you're ready to order, so I took a photo haha. Eulji Darak has about 4 branches including one near Gangnam Station, and it's already a well-known omurice and pasta spot :)

Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park menu and order
The menu at Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park! Besides the signature omurice and pasta, there was steak, gnocchi, katsu sando, fries and more. Since there were two of us, we ordered the Darak Omurice and spicy crab risotto!

The food came out faster than expected and each dish was plated so nicely, making the meal even more enjoyable haha. It's tucked away on the 2nd floor without much visibility, yet there's still a wait — clearly they're winning on taste and atmosphere. Once I tried it, I got why it's such a hot spot. All three of us were completely satisfied with every dish :)

The spicy crab risotto
The spicy crab risotto was actually spicy, so it wasn't greasy at all, and the flavors were so well-balanced it's genuinely a dish with no strong dislikes. Bonus fun of popping the egg yolk~
The signature Darak Omurice
Eulji Darak's signature omurice is a Japanese-style omelette, and honestly the sauce, the soft egg, and the fried rice were all fantastic. If you visit Eulji Darak, you absolutely have to order the omurice ㅠㅠ Total winner, that dish

The staff even did a cutting show, so watching the omurice get sliced open added to the fun~ At other places, Japanese-style omelettes can sometimes feel a bit greasy, but Eulji Darak's omurice had a genuinely clean taste with no strong dislikes, which made it even more satisfying. Kind of addictive really,,

The katsu sando we ordered as a side
We also ordered the katsu sando as a side and shared it generously haha. The katsu sando was almost too much to call a 'side' — the pork cutlet inside was thick, and the bread was soft too, so yum, eating it like this is delicious and fills you up surprisingly. Soft yet simple and tasty. Isn't the food all so pretty ㅠ great vibe too, top marks,,

I expected the katsu sando to be a small portion, but it actually came in 4 pieces, a juicy Japanese-style pork cutlet sandwich :) It's hearty enough to fill you up on its own, and the pork cutlet was really tender and juicy.
How about it as an Apgujeong date or blind date spot?
It's not easy to be satisfied with every dish you order, but we ate so well here. Last time I ordered different pasta dishes and remember loving everything I ordered then too. I get why it's been consistently popular. It's quiet with a great vibe, good for conversation, so I'd recommend it as a casual date or blind date spot in Apgujeong!

So, so delicious, Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park branch! If you're looking for a great omurice and pasta spot near Apgujeong Rodeo Station, I recommend Eulji Darak
