Seoul Korean BBQ with garlic sauce and bean kalguksu: Raviok Yeoksam
In short
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is an aged LA galbi (beef short rib) specialty Korean BBQ restaurant a 6-minute walk from Yeoksam Station Exit 6 in Gangnam, Seoul. Arriving with a friend right at opening, the writer ordered one serving of snow-flake jin-galbi roast, two servings of Ravi marinated ribs and bean kalguksu (soybean noodle soup), eating the beef with garlic sauce and chili sauce and watching two tableside fire shows. Between beef that melted in the mouth and the rich soybean broth, Raviok Yeoksam suits a special day with someone you care about.

Raviok is a Yeoksam Station favorite — a beef restaurant I'd recommend because the meat melts in your mouth and just disappears.

Where is Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch, and what are its hours?
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is a soy-marinated LA galbi (short rib) restaurant on the 2nd floor of 42 Teheran-ro 25-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's a 6-minute walk from Yeoksam Station Exit 6 and a 9-minute walk from Eonju Station Exit 7!
Do you like LA galbi? My friend said she loves it, so today we headed to Raviok, located between Yeoksam and Eonju stations, to eat soy-marinated LA galbi together. Even the entrance had that upscale look that screamed 'good restaurant'✨

What is the atmosphere like inside Raviok Yeoksam?
The Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch space was pretty spacious and comfortable. The lighting was softly bright, which made for a great atmosphere — a nice spot for a date. And since it's so spacious, it's also perfect for a group dinner!
We arrived right at opening time, and even right after opening, other guests kept trickling in one or two at a time!
Raviok's menu and what we ordered
Raviok's menu ranges from plain roasted meat to marinated grilled meat, and the lunch special even includes an LA galbi rice bowl or bibim kalguksu (spicy mixed noodles)! After some deliberation, we ordered one serving of snow-flake jin-galbi roast, two servings of Ravi marinated ribs, and bean kalguksu🎶

Side dishes and the garlic and chili sauces
They set the basic side dishes first. Lots of vegetables and banchan (side dishes), plus plenty of dipping sauces — pass!👏

Having been to a lot of restaurants lately, I've realized that generous side dishes really make the difference. It feels like you get to enjoy the place in a more varied way, so I love a place with good banchan! What stood out especially at Raviok was the garlic sauce and the sauce made from chili that came alongside the meat!
Snow-flake jin-galbi roast and the tableside fire show
Raviok's snow-flake jin-galbi roast comes pre-seared. The visual is absolutely wild🥹 It looks like you could eat it right away, but they grill it once more after it arrives! Since it's seared fresh after ordering, it took a little time for the meat to come out. The snow-flake jin-galbi roast arrived first!

They put the meat on the grill, cut it, and then splashed some liquor on it! Getting to watch a fire show like this made it totally memorable🥹

I topped it with garlic sauce and took a bite... oh my, it completely melted in my mouth! The rich juiciness and tender texture put steak to shame. I found myself wishing we'd ordered a ton of this!🤤

Next we tried it with the chili sauce, which anyone who likes spice would really love. I enjoyed it a lot too! And of course, it was also delicious dipped in just salt or wasabi👍

How do the Ravi marinated ribs taste?
Next up was the Ravi marinated ribs. Since the first meat was so good, I had high expectations for this one too.

They sliced it up beautifully, then another fire show!

The visual was truly overwhelming. Even I, who never had much interest in LA galbi, became a fan starting today🫶

You could really tell it was aged — the meat was so tender and the marinade had soaked in perfectly, so it was truly delicious. The seasoning melted away in my mouth too!🤤

We also tried it with a bit of wasabi, and it was just the best... the absolute best... now I understand why people who love LA galbi love it so much.

Bean kalguksu to finish the meal
For the meal item, we ordered Raviok's bean kalguksu (noodle soup). Since the beans are ground fresh, you could really taste the deep bean flavor. They even ask you whether you'd like it seasoned with salt or sugar! I went with salt:)

The noodles were wonderfully chewy and elastic, and I really enjoyed it. If you're normally a fan of bean noodle soup, this is a flavor you'll love!👏

Is Raviok Yeoksam worth a visit?
Today was a happy time getting to enjoy delicious beef in Yeoksam-dong. If you're looking for a great place to spend time eating something delicious on a special day or with someone precious to you, I recommend Raviok!✨
