Family jokbal lunch in Nowon, Seoul: 51,000 won large, Gwihan Jokbal

A jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant we visited for my son who loves jokbal — Gwihan Jokbal in Nowon. We all fell for the tender, chewy trotters ^^

Where to park near Gwihan Jokbal in Nowon

Parking is a bit tough anywhere in Nowon, so I usually use the Lotte Department Store parking lot or a public lot ~ When coming to Gwihan Jokbal, I'd recommend taking the bus or subway instead

Our family was hungry and wanted to eat our fill, so we ordered the large — but even the medium would have been plenty for a family of three ^^ It's domestic (Korean-raised) trotters, so it felt even more trustworthy ~~

My partner only eats jokbal in the evenings, haha. But jokbal tastes great any time of day ^^ Since my partner treats everything as an excuse for drinks, haha, they were craving beer and soju ㅎㅎ Please drink a little less, haha

We definitely eat out more on weekends, and since my son is growing, we often pick meat dishes. He's not a fan of raw/grilled meat, so we end up eating a lot of jokbal and galbi (short ribs) type dishes.

How far is Gwihan Jokbal from Nowon Station?

It's not far from Nowon's main restaurant street, just 68 meters from Nowon Station Exit 1 ^^ It's super close to the station, so it'd be great to walk over from Nowon Station and enjoy delicious jokbal with a drink.

Room for groups: seating at Gwihan Jokbal Nowon Branch

Gwihan Jokbal in Nowon has a fairly large interior, so it's great for coming with a big group for jokbal. It'd also work well for a family gathering.

Gwihan Jokbal is open daily 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM. It's a great spot for drinks too. Good for late-night delivery orders as well, and worth visiting on holidays too.

In the evenings it can get crowded ^^ Kids also love bossam (boiled pork wraps) and jokbal, so it's a great place to visit with children on a weekend afternoon ^^

How the jokbal tasted at Gwihan Jokbal Nowon Branch

I was really hungry, so I got greedy for jokbal haha. So we ordered the large. It's a generous amount, enough for 4-5 people if paired with sides ^^

We ordered the original, basic Gwihan Jokbal and it was so good. My son devoured it too, and we all ate really well ^^ I heard the garlic jokbal and other varieties are popular too, so I want to come back and try those next time. So nice being able to eat as much as you want ~ jokbal large ^^ Tender, chewy ~ jokbal is the best

Our family loves jokbal so we go to jokbal restaurants often, but it's not easy to find one that's odor-free and chewy. It was nice to finally find a genuinely great jokbal restaurant.

Gwihan Jokbal menu and prices

We ordered the Gwihan Jokbal large. ₩51,000. We usually love bossam too ^^ so I did debate getting bossam instead... but since it's a jokbal specialty restaurant, we went with jokbal this time ^^ I want to try the bossam next time.

The spicy charcoal-fired jokbal looked really good too.

The set menu, where you can try a bit of everything together, also looked delicious ^^ I'd recommend the set menu too.

There's a good variety of side menu options too ^^ great for coming here to drink.

Bibim makguksu, the noodle side that goes with jokbal

It'd feel like something's missing without the bibim makguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles), so I'd recommend definitely getting it alongside ~~~

My hand kept reaching for more of the tender jokbal. Great wrapped in lettuce too ♡

The makguksu got a thumbs up too ^^ Jokbal really does feel incomplete without makguksu.

These days, juggling childcare and work means we eat out a lot. My kids love it too, so I recommend Gwihan Jokbal ^^ Delivery is available too ~~~
